I've seen some really offensive names lately.. seems like folks are tryin to see what they can get away with.. vulgar, practically pornographic, crude and like this guy, racist.... I have been looking for some kind of guidance for this kind of issue but haven't seen any so rather than cause a ruckus, just let it slide until I could speak with someone.. unfortunately I've been really busy the last week or so..  Would be nice to know where we stand on that kind of stuff.. I know WDF? isn't interested in censuring anyone and believes in as much 'wiggle' room as possible, so a little guidance would be helpful.

Well I've always been one to agree with the statement,

"Stereotypes exist for a reason"

But outlandish crazy statements like Jews are responsible for 9/11 is just kinda retarded.

World War 2 considered, it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek.  More interested in acquiring "profits" than anything else.

The fact that Hitler tried to kill all of them is irrelevant.  Jokes directed towards Jews generally revolve around the above statement. 

And I hate to admit that I have had more than one dealing with people of Jewish belief that supported the stereotype to a T.

I used to live in a property owned by a Jew.  I had to install carpet on the back stairs because they were so dangerously steep that they could not be navigated safely.

I asked them to pay for the materials and they were like, OMG NO, IF YOU WANTED CARPET YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED AND WE WOULD HAVE DONE IT.

One time one of my windows was leaking PROFUSELY, and right next to my $3,200 computer.  I asked them to fix it about 5 times.  Finally after 3 months, I told him I was no longer going to pay rent until he fixed it.  He fixed it like 2 days later.

I had to buy two window AC units for $120 a piece, because despite the fact that they told me central HVAC would be installed before I moved in, it was not done.

When I bought my house and moved out I asked them to pay for them.  They were barely a year old and still worked perfectly.  I asked her for $60 a piece for them, which was more than reasonable.  She offered me $50 for both of them.  I should have told her no, taken them out, and sold them for scrap, I could have gotten more than that.  But I didn't want to fool with it, because I'm not a Jew and have more important things to do with my time so I just took the $50 and moved on.

Now this isn't to say that every time I find out someone is Jewish I think they are going to do everything they can to get money out of me or exploit me in some way.... but it is certainly in the back of my mind, and because of what you just said....  history.... Jews have provided empirical evidence that on the whole they are very "money grubby."

Just like every other ethnicity has stigmas/stereotypes associated with them.... and they do not exist without reason...

But there is certainly no reason for anyone to run around with inflammatory and derogatory screen names toward various groups of people.

When I think back, the first night I met Erkdog, I thought he as a little rough around the edges, but I can deal with it.  Sadly, he just got worse.
