Well so far the resources on this forum have been great and I've been having a lot of fun building my map. However I have some components that require teamplay to work, so in trying to test, I started a server and asked a friend to join. It would let him so I'm wondering if there are any specific ports I need to open up or something like that. Anyone know? Thanks!

You need to forward the server ports for both tcp and udp. 27015 is the standard port for hl games. However I don't know about listen servers ports. srcds.com can assist in that I think. And you can always ask us to throw it on the custom map server and have us play it with you (locked or unlocked depending on what you want). Our steam community group is 100+ members strong so there wouldn't be much issue getting enough players for a game. While the map is in it's alpha stages run a list server and ask friends to jump in and test it with you. When your map is complete then we can beta test it. I'd me more than happy to help you with the alpha testing. Look me up on the steam community pages. {pDs}BelligerentPimp wrote: No using the word "fucktard" unless you are refering to TonyRWC or Youngripark.j2. WDF? wrote:go fuck yourself hanukkah style.

I'm up for testing maps too.

Sounds awesome!
First question, how do I set up a list server? Second, I couldn't find either of you through the Steam Community, but if you'd like to add me, Malohkan is my SteamID. Thanks!

A listen server is when you load up your game and click "create server". A dedicated server is one that you run from a separate machine from your gaming one. There is a way to run a dedicated server and play on it on the same machine but the performance will be horrible. OK I emailed you my map. I did my best to test it on my own (even though I couldn't get anyone to successfully join my listen server) and I think it should be pretty fun to play as it is. I hope people like it!

I am definitely down for testing a new map out. I probably won't be able to play tf2 for a few days though, maybe 5 or so. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

If you wanted to just run through your map solo, you can just put it in your maps folder, and then create your own server. I think. Ya. If you support John McCain and/or George W.
