how exactly does the xfire program work?

Yes. you can type and chat in game it is very useful. I like what you guys put while I was away, but I think it was best that I changed it.

Xfire is just an in-game version of an instant messenger, (like AIM or Yahoo!)
scroll lock + X brings up your list and you can talk privately. You can also take screen shots with it or voice chat. I am not an alcoholic... I am a drunk.... Alcoholics go to meetings. One cool thing is you can see what games your friends are playing and you are abole to follow them into whatever server they are in (as long as you the game)MakeSureItsCharcoalGrilled wrote: "Craps Alert"

It's actually very useful and a fun thing to have. It's an instant messenge and you can add freinds to see if they are playing and where. You can also add your favorite server there to see if any one is playing there and who. You can take screen shots and chat in game. I found this overwhelming too but I'm glad I have it now.

If you have it installed already just add a friend by selecting... Tools/ add friend/ type his/her name and a message appears telling you if there is someone by that name it'll send them a message and/or they decide they want to accept you into his/her circle then that's that.............AND you can probably learn a few things from someone who already has had it a while and can help you along...... It's pretty kool to be able to see where your friends are playing and then join the server by pressing the Controller icon...very easy. Sometimes we're not even playing but just chatting....anyway give it another chance , great way ti get to know someone and you being a girl ,well....it's in your favor, LOL
