THQ is located in Agoura, CA a whole 10 min from where I'm from and they have the worst reputation as a place to work. My cousin worked his ass off to be a beta tester for them applying for over a year and getting to know people. He quit within a month because of how horrible they are as a business, not because he was bored playing the same lvl in a game for 6 hours straight. THQ is a prime example of what happens when you let production values slide for the sake of profits.

Honestly fuck THQ, I hope their EA sized building burns down as I'm driving south on the 101 so I can stop by and enjoy the show.

I invite you to set aside your personal bias for 5 min and just listen to what he has to say, it's far more profound than you expect.

I know one of the original designers of Saints Row who doesn't work for THQ anymore and he told me before he left the place was staring down the barrel of Bankruptcy so I wouldn't put THQ going under as out of the picture. Space Marine was mediocre at best, and I had hope for the Exterminatus but it was cool for about 30 min. It's common business practice today to put on the best face you can in a time of crisis in the vain hope of saving things. THQ is currently valued at $.66 a share, VS a successful company like EA who is currently valued at $18 a share. Now to the investor who wants the most return isn't going to be thinking about bugs, closed/open beta, or Q&A, that's the companies job. They see a money making entity that's not making enough money to be worth while, plain and simple. I'll shed a tear for the legit people who lose their jobs if the place dies, but I'll keep hope that a up and coming studio with real ideas can fill the niche and pick them up.

After doing some research and talking to friends of mine it would be pretty safe to say THQ is secretly seeking a buyer and the cat was most likely let out of the bag by one of the buyers to drive the price down. Yet again something that is a common business practice today.

I'm not sure when the last time I played a THQ game was...probably like 5 years ago...can't say they've been making headlines with their games...

Fucking love Bill Hicks. I haven't watched anything by him in years, I've got a bunch of his stuff in my Netflix queue but I keep getting distracted every time I think I'm going to watch.

Moving onto more pressing matters... Does anyone else see the connection of THQ seeking a buyer as a small firm with the SOPA/PIPA threatening to go through? A near perfect example of what the bill will really be used for would be mega dev's like EA suing them into submission and establishing true monopolies through parent sources. But what I find even more amazing is how 2 years ago corporations were given the same right's as people and they're now trying to eliminate those rights.
