I just had a massive nerdgasm. Started playing Magic The Gathering. VS A.I. (i hate ppl so i never play against them hurr durr) This is probly one match I would have loved to record. Game starts green deck vs green deck. I got only 2 monsters 2 mana and the rest are instant/buff cards. AI starts beating my ass with flyers as I only keep getting several more mana as my turn comes around with not very helpfull monsters to block flyers. Finally I get a Giant Spider which has reach to block flyers. AI kicks it back to my deck with an instant spell and my health just went from 20 down to 10 in just a few rounds. After few more rounds my health goes down to a pathetic 1 health, but which then I get 2 consecutive wurm teeth which gives me 1 health anytime a green spell is cast. During this time I only have 3 monsters on my field one 1/1 card with the ability to put down any monster in my hand at the cost of one tapped mana, A bear with 2/2 and a card with 7/7 which i only just got thinking there be no possibly way I would be able to put it on my field due to my current condition and only being 1 mana short. Thinking wisely I quickly tapped my elvish piper's ability to call in any monster in my hand to the field. So a summoned sickness 7/7 card, one 1/1 and one 2/2/ Not a very strong force against cards with 2/2, 3/3, 5/4, 6/4, and finally 7/7 with trample. Fearing the end game with no options left and 3 cards in my hand I had no other choice but to use such beefy buff cards on my lower end monster. bear 2/2 and verdant 7/7 each got blanchwood armor which gives targeted card a +1/+1 for each mana I had on the field. I had just enough mana to give my cards just barely a higher dmg and defence then the A.I.'s 7/7 with trample. Thankfully verdant force's ability to summon 1/1 creatures at every upkeep giving me a slight better chance at surviving the next onslaught by using the 1/1 cards as fodder for incoming attacks against his stronger cards. Having no choice but to block both of his trample cards 7/7 with my bear now 9/9 and verdant force with 13/13 if AI chose to attack me. Thankfully the AI stopped beating me down and thanks to the 2x wurm tooth I had on my field every monster summoned gave me 1 small chance at taking back the game. Slowly taking my health back from 1 its now at a strong 49 with more then plenty of monsters on my field to block every attack without having to sacrifice any cards higher then 1/1 With both decks draining cards fast and AI gaining life used by his own spells has gone from 20 up to 33, the only way I can win now is either play out the decks or smash him head on, by which then I decide that once I get 1 creature that gives all my creatures trample or the badass Overrun sorcery card that gives all of my creatures on the field +3/+3 plus trample I would then go ahead and unleash the full force. With AI starting to gain up a hefty beefy army of his own my verdant force ability card to summon 1/1 creatures is suddenly haulted at its limit of 50 summoned cards. Seeing as with all my units attacking now wouldn't be enough to crash down his high HP on top getting rid of any of his high end cards with just 1/1 creatures. My next draw comes, still no creature to buff my now fairly HUGE army but a rather nice artifact to beef up my now already beefy verdant force giving him +3/+0 with lifelink and trample, now anytime my verdant force causes dmg I would gain health equal to that of the dmg it caused. With verdant force at 43/40 and lifelink I would be sure to regain much more HP if needed be Finally my next turn arises and my next draw card is overrun. Without hesitation I slam the badboy down and proceed to attack with all of my units. I have gone from 20 health down to 1 to finish with 101 and bitchslapping the AI with a -217. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Dang man, 50?! Whew, thats a lot. Nice comeback though. Super Penguin, Magic is the master race of trading card games. You should learn to play, even if its just for scholarly reasons. 8th edition cards are my favorite. I loved the artwork on them, especially the mana cards. They were beautiful. No disrespect when I say this but comparing pokemon to magic the gathering is like comparing a toddler to a man. Magic is much more tactical play with some luck added in. Its a very easy game to start playing too, your basic cards consist of mana ("land cards" ie mountains for red deck, plains for white, swamps for black, island for blue, forests for green) monster cards which are your main forces some with abilities you can activate, buff cards, enchantments, artifacts, instants. You basically start a game with 7 cards, you need to put down your land cards first but can only place 1 land card per turn. In order to bring out hefty high end monsters you will be required to have a certain amount of land cards on your field which take time as you will never have enough land on your first hand. Each colour deck plays differently then the rest and once you know how the game works you can have double or even triple colour decks made. In the game I have only unlocked 3 double colour decks so far. Red deck consists of playing with cards that give you the ability to attack the players HP directly, green is mostly monsters with some crazy buffs, white deck is heavy on defence and buffs, blue deck is mostly spells and abilities, black (my favorite) consists of fighting the other players cards directly. The further you advance in the game the more cards you unlock as well as newer decks and multi colour decks. With that advancement the cards get more complex and games can get much longer. You should see a few games in action on youtube. This is quite fun and a good time killer when your bored of FPS and MMO's. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions
