Yes yes, its pretty much 2D minecraft.
It sacrifices one dimension and some freedom of creativity for a crapton of extra things.
Tons of enemies - mostly specific to a biome. There are also currently 3 boss monsters and 1 miniboss.
Biomes! There's the normal forest and desert, but there's also the underground jungle (cave system with exotic luminescent plants and giant wasps), there's the corruption (think zerg creep with giant holes of doom and tons of strong bad guys), and there's a dungeon at the edge of each world that is generated for exploration and looting.
Loot! There's so many items. You got your bronze/iron/silver/gold tools, but you have special items like a mining helmet (obviously gives light) or a double jump item or a "no falling damage" item and so on. There are a few higher tier weapon/armour sets too but I dont know what they are.
ALSO! A working npc and currency system. Its not super good right now but its something.
Seriously, I'm loving it. Minecraft was first, but this game has so much more in it. I love it. Also, the developers seem to genuinely like to play thier game. They seem whimsical enough to add stuff "just because they think it needed it" which is something I like.
Also, your character is persistent across servers/worlds.
tl;dr
Its 2D adventure minecraft. Its $10. Play it with friends.
