I had a Sharkoon Xtatic-Sp headset seen here I never had a problem with it during the short duration of use. I had to get a replacement when it got trampled by certain house-guests, when the replacement came in all I get is a severely distorted and scratchy sound. I'm really not sure what the problem is I've checked device manager and there's no driver or hardware issues and I cant find a tech support page for the life of me. Any ideas guys? update: I hooked it up to my ps3 and it worked just fine, thinking it might be a motherboard issue I hooked my speakers back up and they work just fine too In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

USB or 5mm (or whatever that is)? And are your speakers the same connection?

Both? Hrm. That's confusing. Are you sure you need to actually use both? USB would be able to handle input and output... I'm wondering if the 5mm jack is just in case you want to use them to listen to MP3 players and such. Having both plugged in might cause the problems? If there's a hardware-related audio output problem I think it'd only really apply to the 5mm jack connection. USB's all digital, so if there are sound problems there it's probably a driver or something. I'd just check to make sure the USB does both input and output, then you can ignore the 5mm jack altogether.

I've had this problem before, reinstall your audio drivers. Should fix it. Jeeps don't get stuck, they just take breaks. TripleBam wrote:That's the most spastic fucking pissing match I've ever seen. Good god.

Also no I dont need both, just merely has the option, I figure I tried the jack and just make sure it wasnt my usb ports, but I still got the same end result In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. Gunslinger wrote:how do I do that :x I'd check to see if it's in your Device Manager Control Panel > Device Manager > look under "Sound, video and game controllers" That's where my USB headset shows up. Right click on it and you should have the option to uninstall it. Then let Windows re-detect it and reinstall it. Alternatively, if you installed software that came with it, you might be able to work some magic through that.

=/ You uninstalled and Windows reinstalled it? And still no go? What about if you use *just* the 5mm jack and leave the USB unplugged, are you still getting static? It's starting to sound like the headset is going bad...
