I've recently recieved hints at an upcoming Splinter Cell movie. First thing I thought: Sam Fisher is Jason Statham. Anyone have a better idea? Edit: Err...I mean Jason Statham is Sam Fisher. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

I go George Clooney. A key aspect of Fisher's character is his age--Statham is too young for the role. I question whether Clooney can pull off such a dark character, but I can't think of very many solid alternates. Safety + Peace

Yeah, I thought Cloony too at one point, but the main thing is that he just has more of a suave type aura about him. Sam Fisher is anything but a suave, James Bond type spy. Cloony just seems more of a heist guy - hence the Ocean's X movies. The age thing is important, but Statham is baldish, so that helps. Also, Statham has a better voice. He'd have to work out a bit, but you're never too old to get fit. Also, Fisher is not bald (or balding). His hair is greying, but bald? No. Safety + Peace
