So my best bud just got married, and being that he's a fellow reefer (not in that way, coral reefing) and both he and his (now) wife are avid scuba divers, he decided to think up a fancy idea. So after us both over-designing the hell out of it, I went and built this (not the cake, just the aquarium.) Aquarium holds up the cake, and all the corals/fish are real and alive. The fish were borrowed from a local fish store, but the corals are all from our collections. We made the tank itself short so that it was the same height of each of the tiers on the cake (4" of water, each tier was 4".) The brown sand is actually granulated sugar which we used to give the impression of sand on the beach (the wedding ceremony itself was on the beach with the audience facing the ocean, and the bride and groom standing between a pair of palm trees we burried the morning of the ceremony.) Friday Night we setup the tank and all the corals and equipment Eye level with flash And then on Saturday here's the cake at the reception I snapped these real quick at the reception with my droid2, so not the best pics and I forgot to put my whiskey and coke on a table that wasn't in the view, so sue me.

Oooh. I'm not into the whole fishy coral thing, but that's pretty cool. I really like the lighting effects of it.

Good lord, thats awesome. I wish I had more thoughtful friends like you, all the people I know wouldn't even donate bone marrow to save my life. Jerks. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

pics are working now- weird...I screwed up and posted these on my non-pro account, instead of editing just figured I'd wait for the bandwith to reset. I post up too much crap on the coral forums so chewed up my bandwith too harsh.
