For any of you DoW fans still out there here's an update that I'm doing mostly cause I've been to lazy to do anything previously.

Single Player Campaign:

The Retribution Campaign will be akin to Chaos rising with unique missions. A new feature to Retribution will be multi-race campaigns. The missions will all be the same have unique objectives/events for each race. The story takes place 10 years after Chaos rising. Chaos is still running rampant, Eldar are being super jerks, Orks are looting the system of Imperial Technology, the remnants of the Tyranid hive-fleet are reqrouping, the space marines are trying to protect the Auralia system because the Imperium has had enough of this shit and just wants to blow the whole thing to hell.

Races include:
Space Marines
Chaos Marines
Ork Freebootaz
Eldar
Tyranids
and introducing: Imperial Guard

The campaign this time around will have some emphasis on building an army. You can choose to field all your heroes or have one sit out for an increased unit cap. As the campaign progresses you'll be able to upgrade your heroes with new wargear or upgrade your units.

Multi-Player:

As you know a new expansions comes with new units for existing races

Spaces marines get a Land Raider

Orks get a Battle Wagon

Tyranids get Swarmlord

Eldar get Autarch

Although I dont have a screenshot for it yet, in once of the Trailers in shows Chaos with noise marines which look kinda like this

The Imperial Guard:

The Imperial guard is the newest race to Dawn of War 2. According to many hands on preview articles the IG playstyle is fairly defensive and caters to players who like to turtle up. The multiplayer heroes include

-Inquisitor: offensive ranged; female witch hunter who can ignite single targets and has flame aoe
-Lord General: healer; can... well, heal, call all sorts of reinforcements and has a mustache now
-Lord Commissar: melee supporter; can cloak and has melee specials, much like lictor alpha; regular commissars still available for recruitment

As for units:
-baneblade returns yay; basilisk, too which will be strongest arty again; leman russ tanks
-first race to build vehicles in tier 1
-stormtrooper, Heavy weapons team and catachan devils
-globals include orbital bombardements and unit reinforcements

I like DOW, even though I am currently doing the SC2 thing pretty heavy.
I am glad they put in the imperial guard. Rather than an orbital bombardment, I would like to see an Artillery unit (earthshaker) that had very high range but very low sight and needs a spotting forward infantry. *edit* oops didnt see you mention the basilisk. NM.

Noise marines....i found the events leading up the corruption of Emperor's Children to be the most interesting and progressively degenerative. Those guys are some of the most fucked up of chaos legions.
