Valve claims that they will expand upon the rts and rpg aspects of the game, it will be released on mac and pc some time next year Thoughts? Since valve is behind it and almost everything they make is pure gold (imo) would this be something you'd get into whether or not you're a dota fan In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. I haven't played, but I've looked at some game footage and read up on icefrog's devblogs. He is clearly a viciously intelligent man. I have faith that Valve knows how to make best use of his talents. I'll probably pick this game up when it drops. I'll grumble about the cartoony bits (THEY DO THAT SO THAT GIRLS CAN PLAY BECAUSE GIRLS HATE REALISM /observant sexism) but I'll probably still play it. The pics Gunslinger posted are what make me want this. My Q: When the fuck was DOTA 1 released. And doesn't someone else own the rights to the DOTA name? That's like asking when Team Fortress 1 released. =P Just like Team Fortress, this is Valve taking a community-made mod and putting it's resources behind a sequel. Though in this case they need to tweak some things so they don't infringe on Blizzard copyrights. As for the name being copyrighted... not sure it can be since it's a mod of someone else's game.
