Anyone been watching this? Completely annoyed with Star Trek Online, I went looking around and found that the collectors edition is being released tomorrow. I wonder if I can sneak a game purchase under my wife's radar. -_- Probably not the kind of MMO folks around here would play, but it looks like it'll have some interesting features.

i wouldnt get it man its getting some bad reviews and from the beta i played at drakhens its worse then wow Fighting is a spam fest , Actions have a cool down timer yes but you also have a stamina bar which means you can spam normal attacks ....Did i mention there is no auto attack so you have to click to attack every time Fights have no ....life to them, There so mono tone and dull there is no sense of danger or risk its just turn based slow and boring Crafting is the only interesting feature i seen check this out and see http://thatguywiththegla...ny-ff-15-guild-wars-pax

Yeah guildwars 2 has a slew of new game mechanics being added and is looking more and more epic each time a see it In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

Age of Conan and PotCO sound similar, in that you don't just stand there and auto-attack. Personally I like the mechanic of being able to move around and having more control over the battle. To me, standing in place with auto-attack... *those* are fights that have no life to them. Maybe... I have Guild Wars 1 and... it's a good single-player game.

Hrm... Well, GW2 does have some neat looking mechanics, but as an immersion roleplayer, I get the feeling some things would just get to me over time. For instance.. my character talking independently. Some videos of the tutorial make it look like they compromise gameworld continuity for single-player storytelling mechanics, too. It has the player character get injured from a battle and wind up someplace else... 3 days later. But I'm quite sure 3 days didn't pass for everyone else in the game... I might try it out eventually but it's not an environment I'd try to roleplay in... pretty much the same as GW1 in that. But I'll keep researching, all the same...

And after watching some FF14 videos, I can see mechanics there that'll drive me nuts, too. Sigh. I'm never going to find an MMO that fits me right...

It fucking sucks. I'm not a Final fantasy hater I did beta for XI and played XI for 3 years. That being said 14 sucks ass. I played the beta for 3 hours and rage quit and never played again. Piss poor optimization, archaic User Interface, boring environments, monotonous combat. I could go on but basically it fucking sucks. I was eagerly looking forward to it when it was announced one year ago but my fuck once I got a hold of it my opinion changed drastically. In 2006 there were murmurs of Japanese developers being overtaken by Western Dev's. I was skeptical at first but after the past few years of crappy Japanese made games only a hardcore weaboo could argue that Japanese games are superior than western made ones. It is a fact now and probably has been since 2006 but I didn't want to admit it then. Keep an eye out for The Old Republic and DC Universe Online. Those games will kick ass. Beta applications for the Old Republic are going out so beta should be ready by January. I'm the leetest one here

Yeah.. I have my eye on them. I'm not a huge superhero fan, though.. and then I prefer Marvel over DC. And... I'm not entirely sure how to RP a superhero and not sound incredibly tacky. With TOR... I'm worried they'll focus so much on single-player storytelling that it'll compromise the continuity of the gameworld to a negative degree. I love Dragon Age and Mass Effect, but those are single player games. Making a multiplayer story is a lot different.

Lol Dumbest thing ever said about Rping a superhero Ok here it goes You RP a Superhero like a normal person but with powers, Sure you could go for the superman or batman shit how about just play how you think you would be with said powers Me ..i would be a Huge asshole and do what ever i can to piss people off and make myself laugh .. With super powers i think it would be 100X worse hahaha it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek.
