I don't have a PC anymore and I'm not too sure if you can run steam when you run windows on a mac? But anyways, for now, I won't be playing any games at all. Not like it's a change from the previous couple of months but just letting you guys and gals know. I'm not leaving the clan, hell, I'll be in it as long as you guys will let me, but I won't be on at all until I stumble upon away to play games again. It's been real, it's been fake, but most of all it's been fun. I'll never forget my oldschool HL2 buddies :) I'm sure I'll be back when the next "hawt" game comes out, but who knows, that maybe awhile. If any of you have xboxlive, I'm usually on a couple times a week, but not too much lately. My gamertag is Stayy Golden. Weak, yes, I know. I need to change it back to Kairopractor. But I'm just ranting on now. So to those of you that remember me, peace and love. For those of you who don't, maybe we'll get to meet sometime. But for now, this is TURBO360NINjA signing off. *Hangs up boots* lol jp jp!™

My friend did it all the time until they released steam for Macs. Now he just plays his steam mac games directly from OS X. Quote:

You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

I find playing on my MacBook Pro difficult, at best, but I haven't tried adjusting settings to get good performance on my integrated video card. Then again, I was just playing soldier without a mouse and had the volume off, but at least it beats no TF2 when I can't be on my desktop. Civilization IV runs quite well on my laptop, as would most of the "SteamPlay" games, I'd reckon. The laptop keyboard, touchpad (you have to click instead of tap), and tiny screen are what make it difficult, but if you can circumvent those, I don't think there'll be a problem.

I've been playing on my Mac for 4 years. You'll want to run Boot Camp to install windows and actually dual boot (make sure you're not trying to virtualize windows.) You can also take advantage of, as was mentioned previous, SteamPlay games that will run on Mac as well as Windows. You'll find some noticeable performance decrease as the drivers for Mac aren't nearly as sophisticated as Windows drivers (we're looking at DX8/9 vs. OpenGL). They are still, however, VERY playable. My recommendation if you're on a Mac notebook is to download and install a program called smcFanControl. This will allow you to make sure the fan starts blowing at maximum speed when you need it to while you're running OS X and gaming... the built-in settings are to keep the Mac quieter so it deliberately keeps the fan noise down. Hopefully your Mac was released within the last couple years, the newer the better. The graphics cards in the newer Macs are epic proportions greater than in prior years' models. Including mine. =[ silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....

Alrighty, so I was attempting to play counterstrike and this message pops up: Your video hardware does not meet the minimum requirements that we have set for the game. If you choose to continue and run the game anyway, you could have problems with stability or preformance in the game. We strongly recommend that you follow the link below and update your video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor. Your Driver details: OS Version: MacOS 10.6.3 Description: GMA 950 My computer's pretty fast, 4gigs of RAM and 250gig hdd so space isn't the issue. Could it be a graphics card? Or my non existing one? lol lol jp jp!™

Or my non existing one? lol Just to note, saying you have 250gigs of memory doesn't imply that you have a lot of space these days. I'm in the process of upgrading my NAS from 500GB to 2TB, and that's just for movies, music, and pictures. One of its current 500GB drives is coming to my PC to give me more room since I'm just about full there, too. =P 250gig = not a lot anymore.
