To me there's absolutely nothing cool about that. Split screen is absolutely fucktarded. Back then televisions weren't that big so splitting it really reduced visibility. Now all televisions are bigger but widescreen, making 2-player splitting awkward in a new way. 4-player splitting might not be that bad since they'll be decently proportioned, but then they'll be small again. And, of course, everyone can see everyone else's screen which also makes it dumb in my book. In that era I would have much preferred playing DN3D on my local gaming BBS. It was awesome fun to play the maps I made with people there, and we'd often set up conference calls so we could talk while playing. And... our screen... was full... and there was no peeking.

I guess so. Back when I was a teenager (when the game was released...) I think I had a 26" television. Split that in half and I probably wouldn't have been able to make anything out from my bed. =P It wasn't until I got out on my own and had my own living room that I had enough space (and money) for a 36".

I think most ppl don't quite realize how Goldeneye changed console gaming. This era nobody cared for high end graphics, there was no achievements, no gamer points, no issues with hackers. Goldeneye was one of those games that you must have had a couple of friends over and spent time and a bunch of laughs together. Sure there are a bunch of 4 player games on the N64, but it was the Goldeneye game alone that no one could ever get bored of. Everything now is about having better graphics, gamer points, achievements, dealing with hackers, having a decent ping just to get a proper game ect... In the 90's it was just about spending time with friends having fun. Now everything has to be all much more complex. Sure a remake of Goldeneye by todays standards isn't going to blow your load all over your pants, its not bringing anything new to the table that hasn't already been done countless times. I just hope it can get done what the original did back in the day. Bring friends together for a good time. I just hope that the new Goldeneye doesn't pull a Silent Hill. Comparing the original Silent Hill against Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The original wins all out in every aspect. I'm so disappointed with Shattered Memories it almost made me want to cry as to why I got the game in the first place. I've already pre-ordered a copy of Goldeneye so yes I'm a nintendo whore. On the upside of pre-ordering it, I can take the game back for a full refund after I think 1 or 2 weeks of playing it. So incase I do end up hating it after I've played it, I can simply return it and get back my money. So its really a win win for me, I can just play it and see how it turns out.
