For fuck sake. Whomever it is, please stop sending out 1000 invites to join the Tempest. If I want to play fucking TF2 I'll join the server but right now all you people are doing is pissing me off and making Bad Company 2 go into windowed mode EVERY FUCKING TIME YOU SEND OUT AN INVITE. Furthermore, I hate coming back from work and seeing 8 of those friggin things littering my screen. Nobody is playing Team Fortress 2 right now the server is not full because the game is not as popular as it used to be. Bad Company 2 is where it's at right now. If we want this community to grow we need to expand beyond TF2. If you're computer isn't good enough to play BC2, upgrade. Just because some current members can't play newer games doesn't mean we have to stick with TF2. TLDR, FO with the excessive server invites. I'm the leetest one here

I have an idea, Einstein. Don't want to get any more invites? Remove yourself from the steam group. Problem solved.

I quietly agree. Steam forces focus whenever those come up, which means whatever other game I'm playing (not in steam) crashes. Safety + Peace

WDF? wrote:I can't wait until we're past tf2 and into something new. I passed TF2 about a year ago. PC gaming is mobile. Clans that stick in one place inevitably collapse. Clans that intelligently move forward prosper and expand. It's as a simple as that. *Starcraft clans may be the exception* Many of the most successful casual clans are those that open up shop across a variety of titles and drop those that are unpopular. While they may lose a few members in the process, they gain a hell of a lot more which equals donations for further expansion. Many of these clans have servers across a plethora of games and thus their members are able to recruit and get their clan name out into the wild more efficiently. They're successful not because their owners are filthy rich, but because they've expanded intelligently enough to attract members from different games. When I first joined this website back in 07 there was literally over 100 active members playing TF2. Where did they all go? They got bored and left because there was little to no expansion. When this was coupled with the decline in TF2 interest the recruiting base shriveled up and now we're stuck with but a handful of active members. We constantly made excuses like "it's summer, people are on vacation," "it's exam time people are studying," but we failed to look beyond these petty excuses and see that the answer was simply that people were bored with TF2. Anyhow, I'll bite with your flame bait Razor. Why the fuck would I want to leave the steam group? Something actually important might come up or I might need to find another member. Just because I'm getting bombarded with invites doesn't mean I should just drop my membership in the WDF group. The point still stands, FO with the excessive server invites. While you guys are wasting your time trying to fill the server I'll join one of the thousands of full BC2 servers and enjoy myself for a few hours while you guys feebly try to get the Tempest started. Don't get me wrong, I love this clan and some of the people in it but endless spam is just annoying. I'm the leetest one here

Not flame bait in the least. I thought it was a valid point. I have no idea who was spamming, but nonetheless it does happen from time to time. My suggestion is start a new steam group for those of us that still play it and still like it.

Was going to reply to this earlier....but I decided I'd come off angry. Now I'm slightly buzzed off some good beer, so don't care about being angry.
Alright. First off- No spam. Maybe 2-4 invites a day. That's not spam, that's people trying to make the most of the group with what it's got.
OH, SHITE! You think PDS/wdfnews.com should be playing some other game. Wow. You're fricking brilliant. Oh, you're just whining. Why not step up and do something? Set up a serious logistics plan like Braqr did with the Tempest for TF2. Oh....you just want to bitch and whine. Well, FO then while the people who still give an actual fuck work with what they got.
That didn't come off mean did it?

So what other games do people in the clan want to play? My list: Modern Warfare Battlefield Half- life Deathmatch LFD2 I'll try anything that a good number of the clan wants. The game isn't as important as the people playing it. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

That didn't come off mean did it? It's called advice you worthless bag of meat. People insinuated that TF2 is getting old, I replied with my reasoning as to what is the cause of a lack of interest here. Simple as that. At least I care enough to try and give some feedback as to why this place isn't doing so hot recently. Crap go fuck yourself. You're a worthless Troll. If you need alcohol to help you form a coherent argument you're already a lost cause. What kind of logistics plan do I need to set up to please you. I don't really feel any connection to the Tempest because I barely play TF2 anymore. Why would I waste my time trying to resurrect interest in a dying game? For myself I have done something. Myself and a bunch of old clan-mates from my competitive days have been having a blast playing BC2. Might want to ask the GWDR guys what they've been doing recently as well..... Actually you want an action plan? Here's one you miserable bastard. Build a new system, go to the gym, make something of yourself. Any of the above will suffice instead of pointlessly flaming me on an internet board. Now go drink some more booze you filthy plebe. Again one invite is fine, but when I get repeated ones it's just pointless. I respect that some of you like TF2 but most of us have moved on. One invite is ok. Anymore than that is pushing it. Razor didn't mean any disrepect, still got much love for you. I can't believe I've been sucked down to this level. I have been nothing but cordial and kind in all my time here. You know I wonder why I stick around sometimes, most of the people who made this place enjoyable have moved on. Only a few good people remain from the old days of TF2. War, The Crawdads, Razor, Virus and Cheney (might be missing a few apologies.) To quote Sam Roberts (even though I hate his music) "Where have all the Good people gone." As for games Virus, the most popular recently are by far Battlefield and Modern Warfare 2. MW2 can't run dedicated servers and it's infested by hackers. If you want to give Bad Company 2 a try go to the EA store order a copy and use this promotional code from PAX to get 20 dollars off the game. PAXEAST842 it worked as of yesterday. My in game name is Darkillumina. Myself, Klues and the GWDR crew currently play as do a few others who I can't recall off the top of my head. I'm the leetest one here

Simple as that. At least I care enough to try and give some feedback as to why this place isn't doing so hot recently. Maybe I'm a look, but I didn't think people got insulted by other persons calling a video game old. Feedback is very good, my apologies if I misinterpreted, but there seemed more "go FO" in your first post than "this is how I would like to help solve the problem." Quote: Crap go fuck yourself.
Try to at least once a day, good for the plumbing. Quote:You're a worthless Troll. If you need alcohol to help you form a coherent argument you're already a lost cause. What kind of logistics plan do I need to set up to please you. Sure, probably am. No, actually had the coherent argument, then decided you weren't worth replying to. After the one beer i had, I felt cheerier and decided to share. But regardless, am a lost cause. So anyways, the logistics plan I mentioned in my post, sort of clearly stated..."Do something like Braqr did." Sure, it was just for TF2, but he stepped up and gave the community a gaming location. Don't think that's a hard concept to work from. I don't own the games you're looking to play (egads and no it's not snobbery so calm down already, I won't try and take away your game copies or something,) so I can't say like "and then set up this server with these protocols," so I said something generic - "Do as that other member of the community did, whereby he had a good idea and ran with it instead of just telling other people to do it for him." Quote: I don't really feel any connection to the Tempest because I barely play TF2 anymore. Why would I waste my time trying to resurrect interest in a dying game? For myself I have done something. Congrads! And never said you should be trying to resurrect interest in TF2. Said you shouldn't be hating on the people who are still gaming it, and shouldn't be bitching at the people making an effort with that game. Just because you switched to Sonic while the old farts are playing Mario Bro's doesn't make one or the other better, just two different games getting played. Quote: Actually you want an action plan? Here's one you miserable bastard. Build a new system, go to the gym, make something of yourself. Any of the above will suffice instead of pointlessly flaming me on an internet board.
I don't see why I need a new system, mine's limping along fine for my purposes. I have a few different gym memberships depending on who I'm working out with and also am restarting the insanity program as soon as my ankle heals up. Additionally I'm in an Officer Training Program for the Air Force. All of these will somewhat help me accomplish something along the lines of "making something of myself," thanks for your interest. However, I still fail to see how any of that helps you get the community playing the games you wish it would. Quote: Now go drink some more booze you filthy plebe.
As per the above listed reasons, I pretty much don't drink anymore, but again, thank you for your interest in my wellbeing, but I'm pleanty cheerful regardless of alchoholic intake. Quote: Again one invite is fine, but when I get repeated ones it's just pointless. I respect that some of you like TF2 but most of us have moved on. One invite is ok. Anymore than that is pushing it.
1 invite is fine per what timetable? 1 in afternoon, 1 in the after-dinner timetable? Seems reasonable, that's what you've been getting. Again, don't be a snob just because you're playing a different game, that would make you into some sort of inner-orifice water cleansing device. Quote: Razor didn't mean any disrepect, still got much love for you.
Who doesn't love Razor? Quote: I can't believe I've been sucked down to this level. I have been nothing but cordial and kind in all my time here.

I hate on idiocy, which you have droves of. I don't give a fuck if you guys play BC2 or fucking Pong. Whut said that he can't wait until everyone moves on from TF2. I agreed with him and proceeded to offer my analysis of what can be done to inject some life in this place. Didn't know that was a crime nowadays. Clearly, I have to offer a step by step plan to please you. Again, I gave some insight as to what can be done to help erode some of the lethargy from this clan; it was a suggestion in reply to Whut's statement. I personally think it is good advice and I would run with it as you claim. You're all free creatures and can do what you please. I wouldn't presume to tell any of you otherwise. No need for me to step up and offer a server or something for a game that you guys don't play either. I've been helping out my BC2 clan though since it actually applies to what I am currently interested in. I'm not hating on you guys making an effort just the way in which you are doing it. There comes a point when you have to realize what you are doing is futile. From what I've seen those of you who still play TF2 are the ones to go online and try to jump-start the server. Instead of spamming people from the entire WDFnews group why don't you create a list of people who play TF2 regularly so you know the invites are going somewhere useful. This clan is bigger than one game or was supposed to be at least..... I'm not whining either, that would imply I'm some spoiled brat that is throwing a fit for no reason in particular. Is it a crime to state that some of us are finding the invites annoying especially when it has a tendency to window whatever game I was playing. But hey, if you want to think I'm going insane because you're not all playing Bad Company 2 by all means go ahead. I already said I dislike some of the new members of this place so it's better that I don't have to deal with pointless stupidity while I play BC2. I'm also one of the most cheerful people on the planet. I have two 25 page term papers due Monday and I'm happy as can be. When you know you're awesome life becomes a 'cinch. TLDR: You're a fucking tool. Give up. When you have to resort to picking apart my paragraphs to attempt to find inconsistencies you've lost. Basically your argument revolves around me being a whiny bitch, snobby and full of myself because I play another game. I never was hating, I was simply stating the obvious which you interpreted as hating. My OP was simply me stating for you guys to go easy on the invites. If I wanted to hate, I would start a thread extolling the virtues of BC2 while talking about what a piece of crap TF2 is. FYI, BC2 was buggy as hell at launch and Valve did a much better job balancing TF2 initially and optimizing it for the PC than DICE has done with BC2. Again Crap, you're a fucking useless troll who thinks he is bringing the 'lulz.' Better people than you have tried to be funny and actually succeeded. I'm the leetest one here

Dick. Showing. Contest. Anyway. I think we've been over this before. One announcement per day. I don't want to bother digging up the old-as-fuck thread where the general consensus stood at one announcement per day. Even listen to the words now. One announcement per day. See how round and normal that sounds? That's because it is. One. One. One. Just one. Safety + Peace
