Ok, here are some ideas...
Past influential military battles Edgar Allen Poe The Great Depression Compare "The New Deal" with Obama's recent economic stimulus projects. The cold war The life of a real spy (if you feel really lucky you could try to BS something about TF2 and hope the instructor does not catch it) The development of the integrated circuit William Blake Hoover Dam dyson vacuums
Do you need more?

I don't think this is really English 102 stuff. This may be inspiring though: http://www.gregpalast.com/kvetcher-in-the-rye/

Is the assignment about how to write a research paper (open season on topics) or is it a research paper on a subject pertinent to English 102? "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

One thing I have been really into lately is surrealism, dada, and noise. I don't think I can fill an entire research paper on that alone but I was thinking I could explore people's tendency to try to make sense of things, how different people give different meanings to things and how people try to give meaning to things that were intended to be meaningless. Probably gonna tie it into the notion of maturity and chidlishness too. They're pretty closely related, look at the surrealism in children's cartoons, nonsense verse, etc. What causes humor? Why do children laugh at the things they laugh at? And why do adults tend to have an "evolved" sense of humor? And what makes surrealism and noise appealing to some adults? Actually I'll probably stick with this lol. this is pretty cool too.

write it about us, the WDFNews.com community. There's plenty of documentation on it :P Not necessarily any vetted sources, but oh well... Or you could do it on pie. We all love pie. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win
