Disney is to give Mickey a makeover

Yo Disney, I see what you're tryin' to do, and I completely respect that, but Donald Duck is the best Disney character of all time! OF ALL TIME!

I only have one issue concerning this "change": if Disney is trying to create a more relevant Mickey Mouse, then Mickey Mouse won't be Mickey Mouse any longer. For whatever reason, this generation is addicted to violence, questioning morality, and way too many artificial things.

Personally, I'd like to see this new Mickey Mouse closer to the Kingdom Hearts incarnation of himself since he didn't stray too, too, far from his roots, but had that "epic" appeal without otherwise tarnishing his mass appeal. I just hope Disney doesn't do what Warner Brothers did with Looney Toons. >>

somewhat expecting the Horst-Wessel-Lied as the game's theme song

Okay, so I just read the article you posted up FinalGamer (as well as nearly choked to death from laughing at the flash video of bugs), and I "think" I'm starting to get where they're going with Mickey.

They aren't so much reinventing him as opposed to redefining mickey. I remember some of the old black and white cartoons of Mickey and the earlier works of Walt (I was a animation student, so blah). Mickey was kind of an ass back then before he turned into a drone incapable of no evil or mischief. Not "EXTREME, UP YOUR *** MOTHER******, GIMME CRACK" bad, but still a feisty little devil.
