I've been called a little verbose in the past, so I'll try to keep this short.

If you own a PS3, you need to own this game.

If you don't own a PS3, you need to buy one to own this game (and can do it for $50 less than normal).

97 on Metacritic
96.2 on GameRankings

The first game left me scratching my head why people weren't getting excited about it. You have the creative minds behind the Soul Reaver series, musical score by the artist behind the Firefly TV series, and some of the best visuals ever seen in a game. It was gorgeous, it was Indiana-Jones-meets-Lara-Croft, and it was a perfect sleeper hit.

Well, $20 million and a couple years later, the sequel is here. Is it just a repackaged expansion pack? Sequelitis? Getting tired or even worse??

NAY, says [apparently] the entire videogame journalistic community!!

This isn't a review, and though I'd love to discuss the game with people here in the community starting this week, this post is primarily a heads-up:

STFU.
Don't make excuses.
Play this game.

(and if you do, hit me up for some multiplayer. my friend info's in the sticky thread)

I love Tim Schafer for so much, from Psychonauts to Grim Fandango, so don't get me wrong. I've played the BL demo and it was fun, witty, a kind of Fable-meets-Psychonauts-meets-TenaciousD. But if I was only picking one game to play here, I'd definitely choose Uncharted.

If Brutal Legend is like a state fair, with rides, popcorn, character and a few weirdo biker dudes, Uncharted 2 is like a Six Flags. The rides are bigger, safer, more bang for the same buck, and you're much less likely to get raped in a back alley by a hobo clown.

Stealing keeps policemen employed. So really, you'd be helping society.

It's getting some serious business reviews though. Man.

Game Informer: 10/10 (they've given out like five of those in their history)
IGN: 9.5/10
1up: A+

The lowest review it's seen is 9.3/10

I just might start saving for a PS3.

Picked the game up a few days ago... gotta say it has been pretty sweet. Got to chapter 20 today and decided that I needed balance the Study:Drakes ratio out a bit :(
