About: - Lake Granbury is on the Brazos River in downtown Granbury, off US 377 33 miles southwest of Forth Worth. The main lake has a small amount of timber, cattails and bulrushes, but by far the predominant type of structure is boat houses and piers. The upper lake has more timber and brush piles.
Striped bass fishing can be very good on this long, sinuous reservoir. Downrigging jigs and crankbaits as well as drifting live shad can be very effective. The mid-lower lake seems to be best. Largemouth bass fishing can be excellent around any of the 1000-plus boat docks and piers. Crankbaits, jigs, and worms are top bets. Catfishing is best in the upper reservoir. The stained water and abundant timber along the Brazos River channel makes for excellent trotlining. Crappie can be caught using live minnows fished around docks, submerged brush, and bridge pilings. White bass are best during the spring in the river above the lake. Small jigs and spinners work best. Sunfish can be caught using live worms or crickets fished around docks, especially in early summer.

Muff...seriously you fail for not liking Fight Club. It is definitely one of my favorites. I think fishing is a great idea, especially when you actually catch something :)

I'd like fishing more, if it didn't involve fish. I just don't like 'em.

There are many kinds of fishing.... that do not involve fish.

Just look at the saying, "There are many fish in the sea...." ;)

How would you say Lobster fishing then? Lobstering? That is not a real word. I would define fishing as "the act of catching something aquatic".

If trees screamed would we be so cavalier about chopping them down?

probably not if they screamed for no apparent reason

Fishing is catching fish. When you're "fishing" for crab, you're crabbing. When you're "fishing" for lobster, you're catching lobster. THE MEANING OF A WORD IS NOT RELATIVE TO THE USER.

where is our resident teacher?

Another thing, there are a million definitions for plane:
Planed the wood
Flew the plane
It is an open plain
That plane has four sides and is flat (geometric)
This burger is very plain

This is close to my point. Incorrect use is incorrect. To be willfully incorrect is wrong. And wrong is punishable by death.

On second thought maybe fishing is not the best past time for most of you. You guys are thinking too hard about it. Fishing is time to yourself or with close friends or family, enjoying your surroundings, extended periods for time to think with brief moments of actually catching something, then taking care to quickly snap a photo then carefully releasing your catch back into the water to fight them another day. Yes, this as with 95% of what I catch is released back alive. The only fish I keep are enough trout for one breakfast or dinner, and any halibut over 28"long(LOL, I've only caught one). I fish lakes, streams, seashore and a little offshore.

Let me describe a typical early morning seashore fishing session;
I arrive at the beach as dawn breaks, strap on my backpack and fishing poles and hike up to 1/2 mile to the sea shore. I then toss out the line grab my thermos for a cup of coffee then sit back and watch the show. The dolphins usually show up first and on some days they can put on quite a show, then the pelicans come along and start dive bombing the ocean for bait fish. After a while a seal or two show up, then the sand pipers playing dodge the surf on the beach. All this as the sun is rising over the ocean. Oh, then I check my line.
