As shitty as blizzard has made WoW ever since BC came out, I know I'm going to come back just to make a werewolf.

luffy wrote:Blizzard makes me sad. lol, awesome 1st post luffy. But, you now, whatever, Blizzard has to do what they can to keep people attracted to the game. You gotta change it up a bit to remove the grind element that was really the only thing dragging the game down - get rid of the ridiculous stats, and make some of the old content relevant again. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... sigh I read that they are also implementing an alliance and horde income tax system. Interestingly enough, they will release a new "accountant" trade skill. As players progress through the skill ranks, the will have access to more tax forms, deductions writing, and even "fraud" (should they walk that line). At the highest ranks they can specialize in "auditing", "collections", and "shady accounting". Secondary benefits will include: Reduce Filing costs The ability to sell filing services and forms (see. WTB 1040EZ!!!!!) Ability to file extensions Ability to form and file applications for guild LLC's, etc. While nobody is quite sure what will be done with the taxes collected, you can rest comfortably knowing that not one gold piece will be used to fund the Stormwind orphanage. I quit after I got to level 47 and realized how hopelessly repetitive the game was. I saved myself many a dollar. Way too expensive. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

Super Penguin wrote:I quit after I got to level 47 and realized how hopelessly repetitive the game was. I saved myself many a dollar. Way too expensive. It very much depends on how you look at it. For a single game, the game cost plus monthly fee are indeed more than the average. But you have to assume you're going to be playing an MMO for longer than the average game too. If you figure that the average game gets played anywhere from 20-60 hours, that's a couple months at most for the average gamer. At $50-60 a pop, that means the $15/month subscription fee to WoW only becomes uneconomical if you only buy 3-4 games per year ($15 * 12 months = $180). I know plenty of people who approach that number per month! To look at it a different way, at a $15 per month cost, if you elect to play WoW in lieu of buying a single other game, you've saved yourself $35-45. This is all assuming you're paying the highest monthly fee instead of the less expensive 3-month or 6-month packages. I'll make two caveats to all that, though. First of all, all my economic justifications go out the window when you have a non-subscription game that you enjoy playing for years on end (TF2 comes to mind). Those games are valuable gems and unlike the majority of games out there, and dollar for entertainment dollar very little can match them, so that's not a condemnation of MMOs unless you're also throwing out single-player games, movies, sporting events, etc. Second and more importantly, you have to frickin' enjoy what you're playing. If you don't enjoy playing WoW or any game, you're wasting your time. If you DO enjoy a game like WoW, my above argument is to say that the fact that there's a monthly fee doesn't make it prohibitively expensive. Personally, I've been having a blast playing it again. I haven't been at WoW's level cap since back when it was 60 and in the first year of release, and the amount of stuff they've added is awesome. That said, if anyone here does play or does want to try it / come back to it / etc., I am Camael on the Ravenholdt server (my wife and GwDR member Scorpion also play on there). My WoW Armory profile is here, so feel free to look me up should you be so inclined. HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

My return to WoW is pending. I have a personal rule with MMOs and that is I don't play one unless I'm playing with at least 1 IRL homie. This particular homie just went back over to D.C. for school and his notification of returning to WoW will likely doom me to return as well. I never got to DPS at raids.. I was always tanking.. which sucks, especially with my current drug habit. Come to think of it my guild might not want me back, lol. Last time I MT'ed was at sapphiron and I was so blazed I accidentally turned him around and cleaved/tail whipped the whole raid.

I usually wait for games to drop in price, saving me a good $20 per game. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win
