Bestest was bitching about how horrible our admins are for kicking someone after warnings them to stop the spawn camping. I do believe that we have a rule no spawn camping. Bestest was also doing this. His attitude has not improved at all. So here's my thoughts on bestest. He's a legit player, he's solid competition, he's a dick. There's a fix for this. And it should be the first line of defense against legit players acting up. sm_silence Just do it as soon as he acts up. If he comes here, we can deal with it. But as a player, he's solid. Just do it as soon as he acts up. If he comes here, we can deal with it. yes and we have done that and it does nothing. we have also kicked and banned him but to no avail. Drak...I really don't like him either. He kills me a lot, complains about his team (even if he's just dicking around), and can be quite annoying...but I don't think thats cause for a perma-ban...YET. I really don't know...I mean, he is just one player. Banning him is no big deal, we have lots of players. I dunno. I voted to just give him another chance. I totally get that hwguy has gotten under some of your skins, apparently we've even lost members of pds and the community because he hurt their feelings or whatever. I've played with him several times and haven't ever seen him get egregiously out of line. Unless I see it myself or someone can show me some real evidence I don't feel comfortable voting for a permaban over dickishness. I'd love it if you guys would gather some demos and whatnot, get witnesses together, and then put him on "trial" in a public thread. I don't really doubt he would be found guilty but I'd like his guilt to be completely apparent and undeniable. I thought we had votekick available? If we do we should start using it more, and make sure that our regulars know about it. It seems like a better solution to empower our players to police themselves. If hwguy sees that his behavior has consequences and that those consequences don't just come from "an admin" but from pissing off his fellow players he'll either start behaving in line with community norms or he will stop coming around. He's not going to be able to turn this into some kind of personal BS where he tries to turn members of the community against us or waste our time arguing among ourselves or whatever. I have no grudge with him about anything him constantly being a dick to everyone he has been warned kicked muted gaged, even a 1 day ban, and then a 1 week ban that was shortened to yet another 1 day ban he has been give so many chances to change and has not. Although I can't say much of the situation at hand, you guys also gotta take into effect the #1 rule within all {pDs} servers. "Basically don't be a dick". If constant attitude within one of our servers is in rather poor sportsmanship towards anyone the #1 rule is in effect. Regardless of who it is, admins included it should be dealt with at the moment it shows to be a problem. One reason why this person seems to have gotten away with poor behaviour is because no admins took action and now that he feels he can get away with just about anything he wount stop. What I recommend is a temp ban of what in this situation looks like, 2 weeks would suffice. After the 2 week ban has been served he must stay in check if he's to play on the servers again. If his actions do not improve after being told at least once a perm ban will have to take effect. Here is the honest truth in my relation to HWguy. #1 Hes annoyable good but seems legit as I have spec him on numorous ocassions. I find it funny when he is not on the top of the list he switches to spy to get the 2 point backstabs to get back in the lead. #2 He is very whinny and acts like a jerk. God forbid we don't have a medic on his team and when I personally do good I have "taken tips" from his playbook according to the king of self-centered-ness. #3 I find myself looking at the list of players on the server before I even start TF2. If he is playing I don't join for two reasons. One I don't wanna spend my play time having to hear the back and forth gripping that seems to be more common theses days on the Tempest, and secondly I don't wanna have to baby sit said retarded players which we seem to be gathering more of lately. #4 If we had second server I would join the one HW was not on. However I did vote "no" as I have not personaly seen or have been shown anything extreme enough to warrent a ban.

War pretty much sums up my feelings on this issue, but I agree with splinter that a severe, but temporary punishment may be in order. Perhaps a 1-2 week ban, then monitor, without telling him, his post-ban behavior to decide whether we still want to have him on our server. That being said, as much as I want to be fair to all, I don't want him around anymore and I want someone to say, "to hell with the ban policy, ban the mofo!" I think I speak for must of us when I say that as much as I can, I try not to be on his team. I think that it is telling that anytime you look at the teams, the regulars always tend to be on the opposite side as hwguy and, even if he reforms, I don't think anyone will want to play with him. I haven't voted yet, I have yet to decide whether to be fair or selfish. Just my 3 cents for now. EDIT: Perhaps this vote should take place in the private clan forum so that a larger swath of the community may vote.
