wow what a shitty night, got super blazed at hempfest then super blazed that night and didn't get to sleep until 2:30 woke up this morning at 5:30 and I couldn't tell if I slept or not. Cant get back to sleep because my ass (muscles) is sore as fuck. I just crushed the last ibuprofen in the house and dissolved it in a glass of water/drank. I don't even know if that works but I'm so desperate I'll try anything. Anyways my plan is to go get a bottle of excedrin and one of those fucking 5hr energy things. My mentor gets back from vacation today and we're also having a meeting, I don't want to be even more groggy than usual. Looking forward to being tired around 9:00 or so tonight, god damn I am going to bed early I've been missing too much sleep the past few months. Any suggestions for what I should do to wake up fresh tomorrow? I've been having so many drugs going through my body over the last couple days. We got a few vitamins and some gingko, does that shit actually work?

Vitamins can't hurt, I would stay clear of the gingko I think it is a stimulant. Also avoid exercise and food at least 2 hours before you go to bed. When you do go to bed do not have any distractions like TV, computer or even music on or around you. You want complete sensory deprivation. This works well for me, usually asleep in 5 min. Alternativly if you are sure this would not work for you try some Nyquil, just be sure you have a couple of alarm clocks set.

Good sleep - 1: Go to bed at the same time every day. 2: Get up at the same time every day. 3: Avoid naps...if you can. :P Good sleep doesn't just happen. Its something you develop. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

To get to sleep you can try melatonin, theanine, and/or phenibut. They are all OTC and should be fairly inexpensive. If you can get some zolpidem (aka Ambien), it's great stuff. No matter how awake I am within a half hour if I try to fall asleep I will. If you fight it and stay awake things can get a bit weird and trippy, and if someone wakes you up within the first few hours you probably won't remember it very well. It works better than anything else I've ever tried, as long as you have time for at least 6 hours of sleep you wake up feeling great. The best choice would be to take melatonin and theanine about an hour before you wanted to sleep every night for awhile and always go to sleep around the same time. A few weeks of that and you should be able to develop a normal sleep pattern. You can also take theanine during the day combined with caffeine to smooth it out. As far as being sharp once you are up goes, there are a lot of choices out there. Maca (it might make you really horny though), Rhodiola, ALCAR, any of the various racetams (piracetam, oxiracetam, aniracetam, etc.), theobromine (main stim in chocolate), Bacopa, Ashwaghanda, tyrosine, Mucuna, etc. (combining any of the above should be safe and more effective than taking them on their own, in theory taking any of them regularly shouldn't be dangerous either). Each brain being unique not all of the above will work, some may even have the opposite effect. Rhodiola and a racetam are probably the safest bet as far as efficacy goes. Piracetam is supposed to take awhile to build up effects in most people but the other ones should work immediately. I personally felt piracetam on the first dose, it wasn't anything major though (kind of like a low dose of caffeine), the most noticeable thing was that while I took it my ability to recall numbers was hugely improved. Kind of cool but pretty much useless for me. Gingko apparently works at improving memory function, if its good quality and you take it regularly, if I remember right it's supposed to be more effective the older you get. There's other stuff out there that works similarly but more effectively. It's not really a stimulate per se but it can't hurt to take it if you have some laying around. Odds are you won't notice much from it though. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I believe LS is the one with the scooter, so I'd have to wager crossing town at 25mph is the cause of the sore butt. That or I could make a joke about hempfest really being a cockfest, but that would be rude.

“The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease” -William Osler There are many treatments that will make you fall asleep; but until we understand why your ass is sore, we will not be successful in treating the patient. It was a combination of 3 things: Sleeping on a shitty couch falling on my ass while riding my friend's longboard and riding over bigass potholes on my MOPED I have always had really bad insomnia. I can't sleep unless there's dead silence, or if I'm totally wiped out. And I can be 'tired' and try to go to sleep and it'll take me 45mins to 2 hours to fall asleep. I'm gonna head to the store in a bit and see what they've got. As far as being awake at work goes, I hope a good night's sleep will be the only necessary cure. My contingency is a friend whom I can scam Concerta out of (I actually do have ADD (probably) so it all works out)

I've been taking some concerta recently, it feels kind of hard to predict. One day it'll feel like it lasts only six hours or so, others longer. Sometimes it feels like it cuts in and out. I think it's because the pill has a really weird design, it supposedly "pumps" the methylphenidate out over a period of time based off this part inside the pill that expands and pushes it through a little laser drilled hole at one end. I cut one apart because this seemed like a pretty insane way to extend a patent on such an old drug when there are already other proven methods of doing time-release delivery. It appears that this is really how the things work. They are a bitch to cut apart, but they do in fact seem to have a little pocket of white powder in one half and this weird kind of rubbery thing in the other. If you actually have "ADD" or whatever you should go see a shrink and buy the stupid permission slip that lets you get stuff straight from the Big Pharma cartel's authorized dealers. Life is so much easier that way. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I know, I really want to get an adderall script. Amphetamine is such a better buzz than methylphenidate. Only problem is I have no fucking clue how to go do it, I haven't been to the doctors in so long, I don't have health insurance. I think I kinda belong to some clinic but I don't know if I can just walk in and get a prescription for an indefinite period of time

Well Lead all I can offer you is a Mediterranean solution. It was always recommended to me to eat some honey on some bread or just some plain honey with something warm like tea to help me sleep. Honey with a warm drink does help you sleep easier according to all the old-timers in Greece. Or you can get some sleeping pills but those are weaksauce. I'm the leetest one here

I wish I could help you, but as I have terrible insomnia, I'm afraid I'd be no help. And crawdad has a gift. He was being generous when he said that he's usually asleep in 5 minutes. It is actually less than that. Try having insomnia when the person in bed with you is sound asleep. Very freaking irritating. I'm not sure what adderall costs, but I know that the straterra I was prescribed cost over $500 without insurance. The concerta was a "free trial", which in reality was just a discounted price and I still had to pay about $50 after my insurance covered their part. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
