We're aware of the shitty performance of the servers. We're working on resolving the issue with our host currently.

However, there is an option which we believe would work. However, it is more expensive. Basically if we were to implement it we'd need to reduce the number of servers back to 2.

I'm asking you today which of the two servers, 1 or 2, would you be fine seeing leave?

Basically in order to keep all three we'd need to average about $220 in donations per month, and I'm not confident that that could continue happening.

On the seldom bad night I have minimal lag issues so I can't complain. I can't get any server to show up on favorites so I just go where friends are so it makes no difference to me which one gets the axe.

I know 3 is funded by phoenix, but I haven't seen it even half-filled in at least a month or so. I know this is in no small part to the major flaws of the server (not working basically). I'm not sure on the logic of killing off one of the two that does work to keep one that is broken. Now if 3 is fixed up and good to go, well....still not sure. I think temp2 is responsible for more wdfnews members than any other server throughout its history. That it hasn't been fully resurrected since the last server meltdowns ís a problem, but typically that was the server that was full more than any other.
That said, if 3 gets fixed and is running, I'd say can 1, let 3 be the "maps galore" server and temp2 keep with the 247 2fort that if we can get it resurrected, stays consistently full.

Why not switch to a gaming host? You can get 3x 32 man servers for $150/month, plus they won't be near as laggy. 220/month for 3 servers is WAYYYY to much for a community to pay IMO.

The lag issues are much less than they were before. #3 gets laggy when there are around 16+ people on it.

If any server gets the axe, its #2. I don't care if its popular, I hate 2fort. Give more bandwidth to the fun servers! :P

I've only been on Tempest 1 for a couple hours over the two weeks and haven't noticed anything laggy. I was on Tempest 3 today (it was booming!) and there wasn't a hint of lag.

If it's a choice between 1 and 2, keeping Tempest 1 is, hands down, the better choice. For some reason Tempest 2 hasn't been the active server it once was since it started back up. Probably because nobody uses it to push it to the top of server lists. Tempest 1 is usually active in the evenings and I think in the overall TF2 population people enjoy a mixed map selection over a 24/7 server.

Temp 2 is my favorite, but If one had to go, I would say: let it be 2 because if we ditch #1, we go from a TF2 community to a 2fort comunity. Also, you do seem to be paying an awful lot for servers IMO. I may be wrong, and you may be paying more for a good reason, but on the surface it looks excessive.
