It's a bow... THAT PINS PEOPLE TO WALLS!!!!!!!
Though I am happy to pin people to walls again (FEAR 1 MP with the HV Needle Gun) I was hoping it wouldn't be something where the sniper has to get into close range combat and something that... removes movement of players like the sandman.

does it work against ubercharges as well, if it does, they're gonna become useless real fast In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

I hope it doesnt work against ubers. Ubers already have enough shit that can reduce its effectiveness (pyro blast, bonk). I really thought they would be more creative than another stun weapon. I hope that the arrow arc's with gravity to make it more difficult to use. Quote:

LOL Nobody quite knows just yet. There is speculation ranging from: - just a ragdoll pin if its a kill shot, with the only real advantage that its a 1 second charge to full power...but you have to get in mid range to make the shot (this is what I am leaning towards.) - Might have a little knockback and if you happen to be near a wall when hit with any shot it pins you for a few seconds. If it ends up being like i think, snipers who are really great headshotters will be able to really do some great mid range offensive support...following in just behind the main push and picking off enemies right and left with thier 1 sec full charge. Looks to me like... 1) it does regular damage. 2) any headshot is a crit 3) if it's a killing blow, you'll be pinned to a nearby wall. I don't think the pinning has any slowdown/stun. Valve isn't dumb enough to give *two* classes that ability. Safety + Peace

I'm wondering which weapon this replaces, it's similar enough to all of them. It's semi-melee, semi-quick, and semi-long ranged. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

Wait, how is a bow and arrow even close to a melee weapon? FYI: TF2 Blog wrote: No, the Huntsman doesn't stun. It pins dead/dying players. I think its pretty obvious this weapon replaces the sniper rifle. Single shot charge just as the sniper rifle. Man valve is on the ball today, 2 announcement posts in 1 day? It's great that they cleared it up... now if they could... tell us more about the bow because it seems useless... and overpowered at the same time.
Overpowered because its a 1 second charge meaning classes with low health = instant death by the sniper /w bow.
To balance that... the damage would get reduced so people can live or a really long reload time, but, for a bow... I don't see it being a really long reload time.
If it's balanced to reduce it's damage, why bother?

This reminds me of Shrek pulling the arrow out of his posterior. Ouch. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

Saber (Wu) wrote:If it's balanced to reduce it's damage, why bother? Puts the sniper into the fighting fray, rewards his proximity to the enemy with crit headshots. Granted, it's still capable of function as a long range weapon, but with gravity and a delay to hit, it'll push the sniper closer to the frontline. Safety + Peace

I think the pinning is just an after effect of the kill. Otherwise what good would it be if the enemy wasn't around any walls?

I'd bet it just pins ragdolls. Plus, I like how people are already complaining how it's over/underpowered. Wait until you try the damn thing. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

When they say this:
The question is how to stop these cheaters from wind-sprinting around like they own the place
Do they mean it will stop the scout's energy drink?
