Hey all, I was banned today (October 19) at about 5 PM on the Tempest #2 server. I was banned by the admin Trigot for supposedly using an AIMbot.
I don't believe I was contacted before the ban (maybe something was said in chat and I missed it, but I don't think so). Afterwards I contacted Trigot and was told that there was a video and that I should dispute the ban here. I would like to dispute this ban because I definitely don't use any bots and just want to get back to playing on my favorite server =)
I began playing on this server a lot about two weeks ago, and it has since become my favorite TF2 server because many good players are active on it and I feel the respawn time is perfect for 2fort. I primarily play sniper and consider myself to be quite good but certainly not the best I have seen by any means. I can understand why one might think I was using an AIMbot as I have fast reactions, but under extended observation it is quite obvious that I make many human mistakes and get killed by other snipers quite often. I am also active in chat if that makes a difference; however, I don't listen to voice chat because I always play with music that drowns it out.
I hope this can be resolved peacefully and I certainly don't feel mad at the admin, he was just doing his job. Also I am sure that other frequent players on the server will be able to vouch for the fact that I don't bot.

I don't care either way i had complaints and did what i was told. when somebody who is important see this they will make a decision.

maybe you could recommend one chris?
maybe people that don't want to get caught would use a hit box one? I don't even know if this guy did anything wrong but from what i saw i thought he was... just doing what i was told to do as an admin, if hes your buddy great but don't be a douchebag to other admins in a public forum. . right or wrong i may be but if you want to argue do it in the private forums where it belongs.

HEY look up on the private ban forum how many snipers i have banned.. how many? this is my first. your just grasping at straws my friend.. anything else you want to try?

I have viewed the demo multiple times, and concluded there is insufficient evidence to warrant a permanent ban. Ducklord's ban has been lifted. Trigot was acting in good faith when he took action, so he shouldn't be reprimanded. Our admins do their best and when they suspect there is cheating a judgment call has to be made, and that's exactly what Trigot did. Ducklord, thank you for bringing your dispute to this forum, and please don't feel that anyone will be scrutinizing you unduly in the future. That said, if by a stroke of luck you were cheating and just lucky enough not to have the demo show it conclusively enough, rest assured this scenario may play out again and we're generally less tolerant of second, third, and fourth appeals.
