Current Goal: Three 1u quad core servers aka lots of $$$
I am now using excess donation money per month after we hit our hosting goal to put aside money for our new server cluster that we hope to acquire.
This will be combined with the money that Pwnzord will be putting fourth later this year (we're aiming for summer).
Remember, anything helps and we need your help to make this dream come true.
The current plan is to purchase three 1u quad core servers to occupy our current 3u rack space with NetRiver.
Two of these machines are strictly community oriented. They will allow us to increase our hosted servers exponentially. This will allow us a wider array of games for you to enjoy with your community mates.
The third server will be a combination of both community related projects as well as our business needs. This might come off to you as a "WTF" moment. Why are your funds going to something that isn't related to our community?
The answer is simple. We shoulder the financial burden of this community on a monthly basis. We need better gear to continue to do our work in the private sector so we can continue to financially support this beast. It's that simple.
The third machine will also take over control of the site as well as new web-related community projects that we have cooking up in our minds for you all.
Anyway, we need your help to reach this goal. While long term we will be able to provide this for you, it will happen much quicker with your assistance. We ask that you donate to this cause only if you have the means to do so. We've already received a substantial donation this month of which part of it went to this cause.
