This is my first post, but I've been playing on the servers for a little over a month now.

Tonight on the 24/7 2Fort server I was playing on BLU along with a guy named [IC]Hawk. Everything was fine, he was a decent player and seemed to be a nice guy. Then another [IC] guy joined. This is when things got odd. [pDs]BadHorsie starts to demand that this other IC member either switch teams or drop his clan tag because otherwise he'd be "clan stacking" and that's apparently an offense of some sort.

So not too long afterwards the guy gets booted. Another pDs member comes along (unfortunately can't remember his name) and [IC]Hawk pretty much says "what the hell?" I asked too since it seemed rather odd that two guys of the same clan on a team constitutes "clan stacking". I could understand that there might be a very weak argument if they were in the top two spots, but neither of them were. The new pDs member says that it wasn't clan stacking, but he left awhile later when the IC guy came back.

Again BadHorsie starts telling him to switch or drop the clan tag as that is 'clan stacking". The fact that it would apparently be ok if he didn't have a tag makes the whole request rather asinine.

So basically, is this true? Is there a policy against clan stacking? I'm a member of [GwDR] along with Endyss and we've had tons of games where many GwDR members were all on the same team and nothing was said. I've also played games where an overwhelming number of pDs members were on a team, and nobody said anything.

So is this a problem? Or otherwise what the hell is BadHorsie's problem? He was the only one who mentioned it and apparently did the booting or otherwise contacted somebody to do it for him.

Sorry about the confusion, lemme try to clear it up.

1. I was on BLU along with the two IC guys. I'm in GwDR like Endyss, not IC.

2. BadHorsie was on the red team.

3. He kept telling the new IC guy who had only joined the game (maybe 10 minutes?), to either drop his clan tag or move to the red team because they were clan stacking, all two of them.

4. The IC guys were polite at first and tried to ask questions about how 2 people constitutes clan stacking but BadHorsie wouldn't hear any of it and booted the newer IC guy.

5. Neither of the IC guys were at the top of the kill list. Especially the newer one as he'd just joined. The other one [IC]Hawk was a good player but not something stellar or amazing per se. Like a 7 or an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

6. Another {pDs} member (I believe it might've been Cantrip) joined the server, and when asked about the clan stacking said that it was in fact not clan stacking.

Finally, I'm asking because as a member of GwDR we have a fair amount of our members who like to play on your servers, most notably Mr. Endyss. As such we like to play together when we can, though we're not opposed to squaring off against each other. So I'm asking to make sure that it's ok for us to join together without having to fear being booted or banned over an accusation of clan stacking.

I can understand if we did have a large number of members on the same side and were wiping the floor with the other team, but when it's only 2 or 3 like you said, that seems a bit excessive to consider that as stacking.

Edit: I forgot to add. After the IC guy came back, and BadHorsie again demanded he switch or drop the clan tag or get booted, they again tried to ask why this was such a big issue. BadHorsie wouldn't really discuss it and that's when they finally lost their tempers and told him where to stick his request. At that point the second IC guy was again booted and [IC]Hawk told everyone that he'd had fun but that he wasn't going to play on a server with such an odd rules and he himself left shortly thereafter. He did say that all {pDs} members were welcome at the IC server with the exception of BadHorsie. He was pretty polite and calm the whole time.

I'd been playing for quite awhile at that point and the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth so I too decide to take a break at that point. (not that I'm going to stop playing on your server, or anything like that)

I was on for like five minutes and only responded when I had a running commentary in my ear from members on my team about the kick.

Horsie had his reasons and it was his call to make.  He was following a recent directive on clan stacking - or the appearance of clan stacking, then during the middle of this I got a call and had to leave.  We'll  discuss the issue in the private admin forum. 

In the meantime, enjoy our four servers and welcome to the forums.

Glad to hear everything's cool.  Please understand that Bad Horsie was just following a directive given to all the admins.  As you know that directive has since been rescinded.

We have threads somewhere on the forums where people were complaining and complaining about clan stacking or the appearance of clan stacking.   WDF? does his best to make this a positive gaming experience for everyone and the solution to the problem was to have the admins keep folks from stacking the teams or avoiding the appearance of stacked teams.

It obviously had unintended consequences and that should not be held against Horsie as he was following the directive.  No matter since that is no longer an issue. 

As you can tell, WDF? listens to people's complaints and tires his best to fix the situation as best he can.  That is what makes this place such a great little corner of the Internets.
