ok, here it is.  i finally figured out what the problem was with the detpack.  i was missing one name filter and it caused the other 40 entities that make it up to get all buggy.  but now it works like a charm.  happy fragging!!!

Looks like someone didn't use the CST tools to compile (OWN3D )

I can toss the flag through the displacement walls and out of the map. Same with the detpack and grenades. Also peace wouldn't shut up about how low the roof is.
on the other side of the coin can you show me how to add that cool rain effect...

how about i give you the .vmf and you can compile it with cst because i don't have it.  also, that way you can look at how the snow was made.  yes, its supposed to be snow, but whoever made the entity for valve was fucking drunk and thats as close to snow as you can get.

excuse me while i hijack this thread. ok so to 'motivate' you mappers to download a file that is 1kb in size here are some pictures 4 u:

This first one is of amckern's site, where you can download the CST. Just in case you thought my link was to some spam site or it was gonna give you a VD:


this next one is a wonderful shot of the CST tools doing their job sitting in your sourcesdk/bin directory which is where you unzip them. (Note that I have colored the CST tools in red so that even the untrained eye may be able to notice exactly what they look like)


there you go. the rest is explained in this link, posted again for your convienice. I don't see why people won't download these custom compile tools when you know that any displacements you compile with the valve tools WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY!!!!

Until HL2CTF 1.8 is released this is the only way to ensure that displacements are compiled correctly. And at anytime Valve can update its sdk again and break them. If you need more screenshots, like maybe about how to unzip the file or something lemme know
