virus wrote:what is the info on the voice comm you are using for the games and practices? Sorry Virus, I forgot to tell you. We have been given permission to use a TeamSpeak server run by a couple of pals I know. Super knows them too. Address: sxn8.org Password: catapult They request that if we're gonna be using the server that we keep the swearing to a minimum if we're around other people. If we're by ourselves thats fine. Just be reasonable and whatnot. Also, Shadow has somehow managed to get admin for a UGC server! Its quite nice, so Super you need to talk to him about our match tomorrow. So our match is against a different set of people now and they have reserved the use of a server tomorrow at the standard match time (9:30pm EST/6:30pm PST). The server's IP is 66.150.214.194:27015 and they are working on getting it configured and password'd. Details to follow. Also, let's plan on having another practice next Sunday at the same time (5:00pm PST). Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Practice Sunday - 5pm pst. Match Monday - 6:30pm pst (I haven't been able to confirm with the team we're playing as of yet, but expect it to occur then). Keep practicing on your own if you have time. Let's rock their socks off on Monday. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

I'll be missing practice tonight. Got pulled into a family outing. But to be frank, trying to practice as a team among a larger group on a random public server does nothing for me, anyway. Once we had the bots working I thought we had a pretty decent setup on our server. The bots might not be a huge challenge (they could be put on a higher difficulty setting) but, IMO, it's less about what the enemy does and more about what we do as a team. Just look at sports teams' practices. A lot of what they do has nothing to do with direct competition; it's about their interactions with each other and repetition. I couldn't even find you guys on that public server. =/

agree with Rik's points- we severely lack coordination and it hurt us last round, we need to figure out the basics, even like each others voices. Its the small things that'll bring the biggest rewards quickest

How about we take the small step of not playing TF2 with us at all, to at least playing TF2 with us. Still haven't gotten a response from any of the members of the team we're scheduled to play tonight and I've tried various methods of communication. Still plan on playing at 6:30pm pst tonight, it looks like they have a server at this address: 8.6.74.144:27015 The password may or may not be rocketman221. I also found their mumble server address and will try to talk to them on there. STRATEGY FOR TONIGHT: Focus on grouping up. Specifically around Bendy(Heavy) and Virus(Medic). Drakhen(Pyro) will be sticking close by as support. Crappy(Demo) and Super Penguin(Soldier) have a little more freedom of mobility, but still need to stay within sight of Bendy. Frosty(Spy) and Dalton(Sniper) will do their own things. Muffalopadus(Scout) will be focusing on flanking and killing weakened enemies, so call out who you injure. Hopefully Crawdad(Engi) won't be laggy tonight and can actually move and such. He'll be using mini-sentry unless we get pushed too hard, in which case he'll switch to regular. That is all. Good luck to us. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

Sounds like a good plan SP!
I'll be home most of today, so if anyone sees me on steam and wants to play some TF2, just hit me up. And yea Muff, you make a good point- since I can't make either of the current scheduled practices I should figure a better time. Anyone want to do a friday night around 8pm Pacific time? I should be able to make that one almost all the time. If another day works best, I'm in- I'm just busy usually from 10-8 pacific time most days (I work for a chinese family, the idea of time off is foreign to them, so I'm lucky to get my one day off. I'm also lucky to have a job that pays me to do what I do, so I aint complaining!)

I could probably make an 8pm pst Friday practice! Also: I finally made contact with the team we're playing. The password is just rocketman (no numbers or anything) but the IP is indeed 8.6.74.144:27015. Bendy said he can't make the math though, so Rikaelus will be taking his place (thought I might be playing heavy while he plays soldier). Sounds like we'll need to ring up Cheney, Razor, or KYFHO if we want a full team tonight.

Well we lost again. Despite being down a few people, and a couple people playing off classes, we did way better than last time. We might have had a chance with 9 people. =O Maybe this next time we'll fight some people that are just as bad as us, and our match wont be so short. Also, can we seriously get a practice going? I mean, seriously. I wont organize it if you lazy ass bastards won't come to it...or maybe I will and I'll be the only one dissapointed. ARG. WE WERE SO CLOSE! Frost, you were bitching forever about not having any practice then you don't show up for any of ours. That first team we played simply plays a lot of TF2 together, nothing more serious than that. We simply need to play more as a group, even if we're split on different sides. Its better than nothing, and probably as good as we're gonna get when there are a lot of busy and lazy people on the team. I figured that competitive TF2 meant you were gonna take it seriously. To me, that means practice AND showing up for games. Even if you're an alt, you should play too. Rik's been playing more than our starters and he's a benchwarmer by choice! I guess I'm just frustrated because only a few people showed up for our match, and at the very last second too. I'm gonna be cheesy as hell here...FOCUS ON THE "WE", NOT THE "ME"! See what I did there? Yeah, pretty disgusting. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack
