Yeah, about that.

On August 24 2011, EA revised its End User License Agreement, removing several of the controversial sections. They released a statement saying that they had no intention to sell marketing data to third parties, nor install software akin to spyware on its customers PCs. The specific changes to the EULA removed EA's right to transfer collected data to third party users, and clarified that they would only collect application data related to Origin itself. -wikipedia

I blame the media.

Yeah, it doesn't sound so bad now.

But I still don't like software companies passively collecting information about my system. If they want to know then they can make up a website where we can specify what games we own, the kinds we favor, our hardware, etc. If they don't get enough feedback, tough. You don't go digging through someone's trash to learn about them just because they didn't fill out a voluntary form.

They can even just make it a checkbox option in Origin--there's no need to reserve the right by contract. Just a simple UI page where you can toggle whether you want to share information. Maybe even what kind.

Now i hear the game will have NO IN GAME MENUS

That means if you want to find a server , adjust options or shit like that ...guess what you need to open a server browser

opens server to start game , Log in at the site , Click play there , Min browser the game starts .."F ..forgot to pick a server" , Alt tab (or close) use browser to pick server ..."F the resolution sucks " Tabbed out again (or shut down) use browser to fix options adjust mouse speed or hud display ..Figure out after all this shit that this game sucks and use the browser to shut the game down and uninstall the bad ..bad ...bad game

Enjoy that shit guys , I just started playing Dragons nest (Come play with me and drakhen) One of those games that to start the game you need to do it from the site .but thats it ..Can you picture doing that for EVERY OPTION OR MENU? FUCK THAT SHIT

Edit :funny reading of it , 5:30 http://www.youtube.com/w...MPyDOE&feature=feedu

Wouldn't be that bad if it were akin to Steam's shift-tab overlay, but it's sounding stupid to remove the menus from the game itself. Even if it allows you to set things like visual settings in a central place for all Origin games (which is the only positive I could see this offer) a person may not WANT the same settings for every game. And if the settings are still per game, why take it out of the game?

Ah well. I wasn't buying BC3, anyway. I've progressively lost interest in the series the more it focuses on modern warfare, which really doesn't interest me that much. But there are other EA games I'd have liked to get that I probably won't if they're really taking stupid direction after stupid direction.

origins dose not have a shit tab thing like steam so it means you would need to tab out or force close the program in order do do what ever you need to ..

Yea i wasn't going to buy bf3 anyways but this will just make me avoid EA all together even on steam

Bleh. Good point. If you need Origin even to play the games through Steam... I think I'm out, too. This sucks.

Man, EA sure is going to turn away a lot of potential players from a game that's supposed to actually look and play great on the PC...

Dragons Nest is a fun game! You can launch it through the website OR you could just make a shortcut to the .exe file. Either you log in on the website or you log in on the game client. Doesn't matter, but I kind of like checking the website for updates and such.

Vindictus is more fun than Dragons Nest though. =O
