Just beat it, its quite awful. Considering its been in the works for 12 years it still came out like shit. Loading times are unbearably slow and it mounts up if you die you gotta wait like a whole minute for the thing to load all over again. Although driving is fun there is an excess amount that really isn't required and it took too long to actually start to shoot shit up. The amount of dialogue is probly barely enough to fit on a half a sheet of paper, lots of reused lines. And lets face it Jon St. John isn't sounding like the bad ass duke from DN3D. His voice has soften quite a bit and it shows. The amount of comedy is almost non-existent, after playing it the whole day the only funny thing I remember is Duke making comments on a vibrator.

They might have gotten away with this game if it was released in 2003 but the standard of this game is just nothing but flat lined compared to the current games of today. I for one am glad I didn't put a penny towards this and I employ you to do the same. It doesn't look like a sequel will come at anytime soon and I'm more then glad that it won't. To be honest its like trying to resurrect a corpse. Giving it a few shocks might make it jiggle for abit but in the end its just gonna sit in the ground. Duke is dead and they should have left him in the 90's, cause at least he would still be awsome.

Gameplay 4.5 / 10 (Too many "driving" parts that end up becoming repetitive, if you want higher chance to survive your stuck doing some mediocre mini games that don't seem to be fun at all [Interacting with certain objects for the first time increases your maximum "health"])

Audio 2 / 10 (Using the same damn song for every loading screen gets very irritating)

Graphics 3 / 10 (Can't say they are top notch. It almost looks like its only 2 years more advanced then the Doom 3 Engine with slightly better lighting and shadow FX. Keep in mind the Doom 3 Engine was first released on 2004 for Doom 3 game.)

Overall Score: 4
A game I'd probly only want to rent out seeing as its got no replay value. Definitely not worth the 50/60 $$$ price tag.

Were you really expecting anything else? Duke was basically Doom with boobs. Thats about it.

For the amount of time its been in production I was expecting more out of a DN game. In a way the game feels like its been rushed although I can't see how that's even possible. There have been a few times I had a good giggle now and then but not enough for me to actually like it like I did DN3D.

Depends what you mean by "in the works". Gearbox took over development from 3D Realms in late 2010. It's hard to say what they kept of 3D Realm's work and what they created fresh. A project in the works that long is also prone to a lack of consistent direction and vision.
