I was slightly dissapointed. I went to the bank to deposit $50 specifically to pre-order Portal 2...what happens? Its not up for pre-order, so I get Brink instead. THE NEXT FLIPPING DAY PORTAL GOES UP FOR PRE ORDER. Facepalm.

So...why did not you check to see whether it was preorderable ahead of time?

Valve will generally open preorders for their own games on Steam before other retailers do.

See. Here's the thing.

I goddamn jizzed my pants when I saw the extended E3 preview for Portal 2.

but then I realize I drink WAY too much for this game to make any sense to me. I mean, shit, the first run-through took me like 6 hours. And sure, subsequent runs were mad easy.

But fuck. Man. They're fucking with SCIENCE and PHYSICS here. Beams and Goo splatters and jumping pads and moving terrain.

I think I might not be prepared for this....

I beat it after about 7 hours. Weird stuff going on. I am now sad because I still have to wait for Ep3.

Bought it yesterday, absolutely loving it <3 was torn between this and Mortal Kombat. I think I made the right choice.

Sorry for not reviewing it guys. You guys want a modern review of it or....?

I do believe it deserves a FinalGamer Review.

P.S. I'm tired of waiting for some co-op action. Someone send me an invite already! I don't wanna play it with some unknown brainless idiot.

Yes.
I could use a good review on it.
I loved the first one but for some reason I'm not drawn to the second. At some level I probably think "Been there, done that", even though I'm sure they've updated the recipe.

Thats a pretty good summary of the two games. Portal 2 has terrific writing though, it was really enjoyable just to listen to the banter.

In my opinion, co-op puzzles were WAY more fun than the single player puzzles, but SP had better story content.

edit: Should have pointed out that the dark grey is the non-portal-able surface. Portal 2 was about 80% figuring out where the hell you'd be allowed to put portals, and 20% puzzle thinking.

I didn't really have any problems figuring out the puzzles in Portal 2, which made me a little sad, I wanted to at least get stumped ONCE. I couldn't figure out how to do Test Chamber 18 in the first one.
