Some of you know that my GTX295 died a while back. It got fried, everyone knows baked is better then fried, so I baked it. I was talking to a friend and he reminded me that if you can put the card in the oven to fix it. Note: Why this could work: When you handle the card, it flexes sometimes, there can be micro cracks on some of the connections which is not allowing it to work. You put it in the oven and it heats up the solder and re-solders it. PICS:     Jeeps don't get stuck, they just take breaks. Not sure that would work. Melting the solder to resolder it, wouldn't that put solder where it doesn't belong. In other words, won't it short out the card? Please report back on your experiment. Please report back on your experiment. It wont go everywhere because there is still minute amount of flux still left on the joint. And no it did not work, it's only suppose to work for cards with visual flaws (IE: red lines when booting, blue pixels everywhere, like what happened to my 8800 Ultra). But as some of you know, BFG got liquidated a while ago, so I couldn't return/rma this card, so why not try baking it. Jeeps don't get stuck, they just take breaks. Hope you covered all the capasitors or you fired them. thats why its best to use a heat gun and do it. And its called re-flowing for re heating the solder. I re-heated my brothers 1st gen xbox 360 and add the new heat sinks for the gpu and cpu and now it works again with no problems and if it does go out ill have it re-balled, which is they take out the cpu and gpu off the board and put in new solder that has some lead in it then it will work till the power brick goes out. This is actually a well established practice and it works pretty well. It has Bragr's IT Seal of Approval™.
