So as a gimmick to get more people to play on the server more often, I've decided to sponsor a contest. I guess I'll figure out exactly what I'm going to give out at prizes later, but I'm trying to figure out what would be fair for how to decide the winners. I was thinking along the lines of the top 22 scores on the hlx stats scoreboard after a month, then some sort of mini-tourney to figure out the top 3 or so. Naturally pDs members are excluded from the contest, much love guys. =D Anyone else have some ideas? well excluding us is not the way to get it filled up ..lol . Anyways its so easy to farm stats in hls i have seen it before it would not be wise to make that the decider it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek. No, I know exactly how you farm stats in HLX - you play spy as dead ringer. You never die, and you get bonus points for backstabbing. I was just suggesting it to narrow down the playing field until the final rounds. Also, we're excluded because we already play on the server a lot. This is to get new people to play, and to get some of the fringe people to play more/join the clan. I'd suggest one or a full set of separate rewards for pDs members, since it might encourage them to come back and play--since we have a lot who no longer do. It'd be just as good to motivate them as newcomers, but I agree they shouldn't be in direct competition with each other. Not sure it's better but one way to maybe avoid some of the stat whoring would be to have the rewards based on specific stats on specific classes. For instance, best sniper K:D ratio, most assists by a medic; try to make the goals ones that are hard to achieve by exploiting situations.

Yeah, I like the idea of different stats getting awards. We could even have silly events like heavy boxing, taunt lottery, stuff like that. Dalte had a few ideas that I liked. Something else that might be thrown in could be a lottery, based on total number of points. Somewhat exploitable through point grinding but not a big deal if it's just a side game with a small-to-moderate prize. What kind of prizes were you thinking? Maybe a combination of game items and freebee things like special forum titles, etc. I might be able to help pay for item rewards, depending on how many we're talking. I'll try not to blow all my gaming money on Steam's sales. =P
