You can convert it to Vbulletin using ImpEx. You can then convert it to almost anything. Ask if you need help. Jeeps don't get stuck, they just take breaks. TripleBam wrote:That's the most spastic fucking pissing match I've ever seen. Good god.

I finally talked to sirus and he indicated that he has modified the database to I doubt we can use ImpEx. I did look the structure for the database and it doesn't look to complicated so it shouldn't take to long to cook something up. Maybe 2 weeks?

Also, although this was slightly touched on earlier, the ranks are a little strange...I mean "fuckstick"? who wants to be that? I vote for a revamp. Some of the stuff can stay, Frozen Penguin for example...but there's absolutely no hierarchy to the current system. There's no way to tell what part of the spectrum you're at really. Ranks and stuff like that are not being converted. Post counts are so we will be free to develop a new system. But one thing at a time.

There are actually quite a few ranks in the "ladder", as this software refers to it. But without a constant theme there's really no way to know the progression or distinguish them from all the personalized ranks that have been made for individuals. So yes... I agree a cleanup is in order. One thing we might leverage--supported in this software and the software I'm renovating for our use--is rank images. They wouldn't need to be anything fancy; just something subtle used on ladder ranks to better identify them. The new software will also allow some self-customization. There's support for groups that members can join that unlock rank "schemes" for the member to choose from. These schemes can be rank ladders based on posts or display a single rank. So, for instance, {pDs} members could have one series of ranks while non-clanners have a more generic series.

All I want are medals. I want to design and give out little pixel art awards for silly things...like the whole HWG era. That was fun. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

Should be doable--not in the initial release but added shortly after. Right now I'm just rebuilding the back-end and getting things on-par with what's available here. At that point I'd be comfortable moving over to it, then we can explore add-on projects. One thing I'd thought about adding in the past were credits you earn through contributions (posts, comments, file uploads, etc.) that you could then use to buy things, such as special rank titles and other graphics that display in your profile. You could also buy gag gift items for other members. Compared to that, medals should be easy.

I think we would all go for the rank of "Mrs. Crawdad's Gourmet Pie". Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win
