Because I'm an old bastard reminiscing at 3am...

What was YOUR first PC?

This was mine. ~1988 when I was around 8 years old.
I even had all those same accessories except for the joystick. Mine was more pitiful looking.
Dealing with paper in that printer pissed me off like you couldn't imagine. Totally Office Space.

Yeah. I think I might be older than you, what with the gray chest hair and all.

You should be more like Cantrip.

My dad gave me my first PC--a whitebox POS with Linux RedHat loaded onto it. I used it for absolutely nothing except for Asteroids and its Matrix screensaver.

Mine: Otrona Attache. TOTALLY RADICAL machine! Z80 processor clocked at 4 MHZ!, 64KB of RAM! Two... TWO 5 1/4" floppy drives! 6" monochromatic amber (AMBER!) display!! A completely portable computer clocking in at around 20 lbs. A totally |337 gaming machine... I played Zork 3 on it. (I still have it, actually, though its power supply is shot.... Today my watch has more memory and processing capability)

I'm not exactly willing to count, but I believe I may have a few more curly gray hairs than Cantrip. :(

I can't find a good image of mine. It was a 386 clone PC with MSDOS and the gold and black monochrome monitor. (I was always jealous of the green and black screen people)

I was pretty young. I remember the first PC game I ever had was a game called "think quick" I think it was from the learning company. I was about 6 or 7.

hahaha this brings back memory's ..I had this and the atari 2600(?) computer thing I remember one day playing on the commador and reading this thick ass book that came with it about how to code a game so i did and spent like 4 strait hours on this thing typing out long strings of code all to have it wipe out because you really couldnt save anything on it....Worth it

I had this one game that was a cartridge that would fit on the back of the keyboard and you play this fish trying to swim in the ocean and get to the right side of the screen that was fun as hell and i would love to see again...but i cant remember the name

god damn that was brutal

This is a tricky question, because I don't remember back that far. All I know is that we had Windows 3.1.1 and it booted in DOS. Favorite game was lemmings when I was like 4-6 years old.

I still really consider my first computer to be the one I built this last summer. Laptops don't count.

Lol, similar story with me, I definitely remember 3.1.1, luckily, mine did not boot from DOS :P I had a packard bell that looked kind of like this:

I didnt get in on the computer thing until I could buy one myself. Parents didnt see a need for one.

So while not ancient (1997 or something), My first computer was some Packard Bell, 200 mhz intel. 32 megs ram, 2 gig hard drive. WITH MotherF@#ing MMX technology!
I later augmented it with a 3dfx card so I could play GL quake. Fucking sweet.

My dad loved computers when I was still a leetle baby, then he decided they were dumb and we didn't have any video games for forever. Best decision he ever made, kept me from being completely screwed up. Now I'm only partially screwed up. =D
