This is literally turning into an episode of House. She said that she's got a team of doctors working on her case and that they called their best neurosurgeon in Vancouver. They are baffled as to what the problem is, so now they are calling some other doctor in god knows where and ask him see what he could come up with. Another test has either been done by now or possibly tomorrow, by which thursday for sure I'll be getting more results on the matter. For now that would calm me a little just knowing what the problem is would be a load of my back. When a team of doctors are working on you and they tell you they don't know whats wrong, that usually points to a bad sign. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Right so, turns out I mistaken the diagnosis. All this time I thought that she only had a minor bleed. After now 3 cat scans it seems that she has both a minor bleed in the brain AND she has a blood clot on the other side of the brain. They cant give blood thinners to fix the clot cause that would make the bleeding worse, vice versa they can't give her the opposite stuff that thickens the blood or something for the bleeding part cause that could make the clot worse. Doc said the clot is 2mm big. For the moment the surgeon prefers not to do the brain surgery to remove the clot since there is a rather larger risk involved, unfortunately at he same time if they leave the clot and it ends up growing it could as well cause risk to the brain. Talk about stuck between a rock and a hard place. So she's been told she will be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days to perhaps a week. Another bad news is that the headaches she has wount stop for a long time. I personally would prefer she stay in the hospital until they find a way to deal with the clot at least. They said they got the bleeding under control for the moment being, but they still can't figure out why shes bleeding or what caused it in the first place or how to fix it. Good news is shes much more alert and able to move much more then when she first had this happen. So at least the migraine is gone cause that was the worst. I remember having a migraine myself when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Unbelieveable headache, super sensitive to lights and sounds, not to mention the nausea. That mofo lasted a good 5 or so hours. Overall I'm glad she is doing good. I just hope they will fix the clot and the bleeding somehow in the future cause them damn clots are too dangerous. Just wanna shout out a thanks to all for the support, and letting me unleash some steam. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

As someone who suffers from migraines, I feel your mother's pain. I'm glad that she is more alert and that there is at least a diagnosis. I do hope that she is feeling better and that the clot is taken care of. I'll continue to keep you and your mother in my prayers. Seems like 80 percent of women have migraines. I wonder what is up with that? Quote:

Sorry about all you are going through. I know how horrible it is to have a sick mother. I am praying for her recovery, for the doctors to be able to figure it out and for you to have strength to get through it.

Giller [GwDR wrote:]Seems like 80 percent of women have migraines. I wonder what is up with that? My moms never had a migraine before in her life. She's only had her first one only due to the bleed in her brain and/or cause of the clot. I'm rather bummed out now since I haven't been able to go to Vancouver and visit her since thursday. Perhaps I'll be able to go later today as its already now monday. My aunt talked to her earlier yesterday and said that if she kept improving then chances are the docs will release her on wednesday or thursday. She's getting a rather big surprise when she gets home as my aunt got her a new living room set completed with a love seat, couch and a chair. This is like a welcome home/birthday present but her birthday isn't till october. So I gotta find something myself to get her as well since she's been in the hospital almost 2 weeks now and I know how much she misses her home. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Looks like she's been given the green light to be discharged. She's coming back home tomorrow after 2 weeks of horrible pain. She will still have to go to get regular cat scans so we know how the clot progresses, same goes for the cerebral aneurysm. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions
