Well its seams that we may have to sell our house so my g/f can go back to school for a year to get a better job and that means that we will have to move in with her parents house for a year or more and sadly no room for my desktop so i need a gaming laptop. I have looked at sager and alien ware desktop but cant seam ot find what i'm looking for. I want a laptop that has the new 6 core intel cpu and dual gtx 295 cards. I have found laptops with either the 6 core cpu but only dual 285 i think it was. Or i find a laptop that has the gtx 295 but it running a core 2 duo cpu's. I'm not looking for amd or ati so don't bother posting a laptop with that. If anyone knows a site that may have what i'm looking for or knows where in sager or alien ware i can build a laptop that lets me use what i want i would really appreciate it. You have very odd priority's man Your selling your house... Your moving back into your parents house... Your going to spend a lot on a new computer? Well Frost, even if he spent like $5k on a uber laptop, idk if it would be enough for rent for a year. Also, good luck finding a gaming laptop THAT good, man. It would end up being as heavy as a desktop, and it would be able to cook your balls at the same time. I really like Sager, and I would suggest settling for a less uber setup. You don't need that much power, imo. Gaming laptops are fun though, despite what most people here think. im going to use my tax refund and some money i have saved up for it. we have 2 kids and with me only working not even full time could not afford an apt plus me and my father in-law are restoring a 50 and 53 chevy trucks need money to get them fixed. Its her parents not mine where moving into, and when she is done she can make $18 an hour starting out so its kinda of a trade off i geuss. Drop some hard cash on a new MacBook Pro i7. 2K give or take. The i7 chip inside is a powerhouse, the GeForce discrete graphics card is a beast, you can run Windows and Mac whenever you want, Steam is COMING to Mac this month (June by Steam time). Im liking what sager has to offer for gaming laptops im going to keep looking at them till i find a configuration that i like. There are two things I've learned about Mac's so far: 1. A Macbook costs twice as much as a Dell, ASUS or HP laptop with the same specs. 2. PC's have small problems all the time, but Mac's have big problems every once in a while. I have a Dell 1557 gaming laptop with an I7 720, 500GB 7200RPM HD, 4GB DDR3 RAM, ATI 4570 card, ESATA port, 1920x1080 resolution on a 17 inch monitor running Windows 7 64bit. Total cost:$1050 It is a great laptop, only catch it the battery life is about 5 hours when unplugged, and the processor throttles down when unplugged. As long as you keep it plugged in, it is a great laptop for what you want. Im sure you can find better since your price range is so high, but just don't waste your money on a Mac. To be fair though, the Mac price premium isn't because of hardware. Apple's price is a reflection of the company's cost incurred from design, software development, customer service (the genius bar), and other things that come about from having almost exclusive control of all aspects of the computer. You have to remember that when you're using a Mac, you're using Mac (just about) everything. Therefore, the hardware doesn't need to be killer because it's fully optimized with the software. I do however, believe this is the reason why Macs are not good choices for gaming laptops. Gaming laptops are about hardware and third party software. Bare bones hardware price compared to other companies is quite high for Apple. Macs will support steam in the future, but that's only steam and not every game on steam. If the answer is to use bootcamp for the other games, then that's just retarded. Buying a laptop with a high pricetag and weaker-than-gaming-laptop hardware to wind up using Windows for the games anyway would be a waste of money for a Mac.
