 Same shit... more money. Basically it's what Left 4 Dead should have been when it launched. For those of you who are too stupid to see what Valve is doing, let me explain it to you. They are charging you money for an over-glorified Half-Life 2 Modification. I remember playing mods like this years ago. Spawn AI drones. Kill AI drones. ?????. Profit. Bullshit. New Features: More annoying voice acting. Less Creative Zombies WDF's Rating? Anal Fisting out of 5. Time for some creating arguments. Played the game? It is great fun with a bunch of friends. This may be called a mod or what l4d one could have been however you have to remember that all things go through development and the process of improvement. Like any game in the world, although the company may spend years on it, it is going to start at some lower level than any improvement. Because obviously any following add on should be an improvement. Although some call l4d2 a "glorified" version of the first, it is. That is also what they intended with the addition of new game play mechanics, weapons, and zombies. This is simply the sequel to the first and is designed to create profit. HOWEVER. the game is still fun to play and is a definite improvement from the first. Silvers rating: 4/5

Is it new? No. Is it worth $50? Probably not. Is it fun? Hell yes (multiplayer)! Would I get it again? Yes. Am I a dupe for Valve? Yes. I would say it's more like beating a cute little rainbow pony who's already dead. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

Had L4D2 come out next year or this year (2010), then it would be a different story, but the fact that within one year, a NEW L4D game came out just doesn't sound like Valve.
However it's L4D, it's still fun, it's still a good game, just not worth the price for a game that feels and looks like an expansion pack to L4D.
And yes... Im beating a dead horse by posting the same shit...

Saber, you are way into MW2, aren't you? I bought it, played it, decided it really was more of the same. I'll probably play it a lot some day in the future, but I'm burned out from L4D. I played that for a month straight with some friends trying to get "What are you trying to prove?" as well as all the other hard ones. Whut, you're basically arguing that people who played Half Life got ripped off by Half Life 2, and anyone who buys Half Life: Episode "x" is being ripped off more. HL2 was exactly the same as HL1 in terms of basic concept. First person shooter - shoot stuff, blow stuff up. Silent protagonist interacts somehow with the rest of the world. Yes, there were graphical improvements and silly physic puzzles, but it was the same. However, that would probably be the best value upgrade in the Half Life series. Anyone who buys the Episodes are wasting money. And yet, we're all Valves whores, because they make freaking good games. Dammit. lolz I like L4D2 but I think I like L4D better... I would've preferred the original with an expansion pack for melee weapons and new levels... You should have done what I did and just not bought the game. The original stayed fresh for about 2 months and hasn't been touched since. Frankly, if you threw down money on a rehash you deserve to be pissed. I'm the leetest one here

Until then l4d1 will keep me happy among the shit-ton of games installed on my hard drive, that have yet to get played.

I'll probably buy l4d2 when it hits $20-$25. If not, I pretty much pick up any decent game once it hits >$10.
