Haha. I really want to try it out, but a $50 price tag coupled with the fact its $15 a month, makes me unhappy. :( If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

I beta tested fallen earth and it was cool and all but they want 50 bucks initially and 15 per month. For a buggy indie game with sub-par graphics.

Noobina and myself play on the server Vaizel, with Lok, blodia, and sonic (random CMS'ers you forum goers prolly don't know). We are asmodians of course, I have a 19 Sorc, 11 Templar, and a 10 Assassin, Noobina has a 19 Assassin and a 11 Cleric. I've done a bunch of crafting, so if you need any tips on that kinda stuff just let me know. [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com

Any1 else still playing? Noobina and myself are at level 27, the other night we were involved in our first Fortress Capture, pretty fun, though being low level we didn't get much out of it, except for Elyos kills. The NPC guards are all lvl 40 elites. [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com

So I was talking to a co-worker about Aion. He talked about the graphics and some of the setting of the game, but then we started talking about gameplay.. 3Bam: So, okay. The gameplay. What separates Aion from any other MMO? Otherguy: Well... 3Bam: ... Otherguy: ... 3Bam: ... Otherguy: ...nothing. And the outlands look awful. But water is pretty. Safety + Peace

Girlfriend and I both still play. I have 1 character at 16. She gets to play at work all the time so she has a whole bunch at various levels, I think her highest is around 30. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

Well I guess that would be fair about all MMO's. However, I think it is extremely different, in terms of gameplay and combat, not just graphics. I didn't like Wow at all, and I think this game is much better then WOW. I never even bought wow, i played the trial and hated it, I've like Aion every step of the way. I like that every class gets chain skills, and that every class has its own way of playing. I have heard there is a 10 day trial, but I haven't seen any advertised, I would try and give that a shot, and then you can see for yourself. Of course, it might be difficult to get an opinion on it, because many of the classes do not come into their own, i guess you could say, until 20+. For example, many people don't like Assassin or Ranger until they get to like 20, I hear the same for Templar, although i have a lvl 17 Templar, and like it a lot. </rant that may or may not be helpful> Something that may shy a lot of people away from the game, is the support. The games creates are Korean, and it has to be translated over for us to play it. So I don't know exactly how it works, but I think NCsoft has to code new things that might be usual in American MMO's, but aren't in Asian MMOs. Mass PVP is laggy, and from what I have heard, the better your computer the more you crash, when we were getting fortresses, I crashed about 5-8 times, and I have a 9800gx2, quad core, 4bg of ram, all that. Yet, my girlfriend (you may know her as Noobina) never crashed once, and she has a AMD Dual core 4400, and a 9600, and I think 2gb of ram. There are a million different theories to why people are crashing, and 0 solutions. However, with all that I think it is still fun, but just like any new MMO, needs some tweaking. </rant that may or may not be helpful> [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com

My girlfriend works there, from what I've heard her and her coworkers describe it sounds like the codebase is maintained by the Korean team. The design, content, and QA are all done in the US and UK. The only translation needed is to tell the programmers what to do, the rest of the team is all English speaking. She mentioned they were getting started on testing the next big patch, I don't know what specifically it addresses though. Everyone there is very aware of the more common reported problems, they have people whose job is to pay attention to the community and they all play the game themselves. A bunch of them came to the penguinlan2k9 party a few weeks ago, I don't think any of them were ever able to go more than a few minutes without talking about the game, it's seriously an obsession. That is some good insight. What does your girlfriend do? Something that bothers me is that they haven't really done anything about gold spammers and gold farmers, well...I guess kinah not gold. They also still have a limited block list...which is seriously annoying. I wouldn't say it ruins the game for me (as I love it) but I know it is upsetting a lot of other people. I am not sure if they are actually banning bots or not, I reported one the other night, but I never went back to the spot to see if it was a bot or not. I think the dev team made a lot of mistakes in a beginning, that they got a lot of shit for, but I don't think that it was any worse then anything as bad as the beginning of other games, like WOW and WAR. I just wish things would happen sooner, it is a really good game, just certain things need to be fixed, and I know a lot of other people would see one bad thing about a game and it makes people not stick with a game. I hope the Mass pvp situation is fixed though, I got the game for PVP, end game lag was why I canceled WAR :( [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com
