For some reason there wasn't a round time limit on plr_pipeline today. It was the second stage, a total stalemate that went on for maybe a half hour? Bring back a round time limit and include sudden death plz.

This isn't a setting the changed on the server, or something WDF added. This is defualt, and I'm not sure if there is a way around it. We have had the same types of games, which leads me to hate pipeline. I would try and RTV, or maybe get somebody with admin/voting powers, to get outta the map. I mentioned that we had RTV and a lot of people did it.. I left before it changed because I was bored of it. That's weird that they would make that the default..especially since the second stage of pipeline is such a turtle fest.

It's no different from CTF rounds, really. If you think about it, a round time limit wouldn't work on the PLR map because overtime or sudden death wouldn't really solve any stalemate problems and having both teams lose wouldn't get you past the turtling either. If people don't want to push little cart in the normal round, they'll be even less likely to in sudden death. I just don't like the map and the game type so I avoid it or leave when it comes up. Problem solved.

Yeah but you still win if you kill the other team, which is what always happens. That's the point of sudden death. I can't remember the last time a team won in sudden death by completing the map objectives..

Well I think the time limit should be there just so the map doesn't go forever. I think it makes people like the map a lot less. It is usually one sided, or a turtlefest, and it's even worse in large servers like tempest. I try not to vote for it, IDK, maybe I'm weird, I don't see the appeal of pipeline. Pipeline is fun and all, but yes. Valve needs to put a time limit on the level. It doesn't help that the Tempest servers have a really short spawn time either. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

I thought that that round was the best. It got down to 1 min left and red inches away from capping. They sent wave after wave of scouts and pyro med combos to try to cap but blue ended up winning. It was long and stressfull but so is the Tour de France. Tour de France would be much more exciting if Lance Armstrong had a flame thrower. I can imagine him airblasting some fool off the side of an Alps mountain road while trying to make a break away move.

I can imagine him airblasting some fool off the side of an Alps mountain road while trying to make a break away move. I'd rather see him do his primary taunt and cause a chain reaction of crashes because his hands were off the bars.

Or have him disguised as a rider in team Columbia-HTC as they prepare for the last kilometer on a sprint stage, only to have him pull off his mask, sap their bikes (or stab them) as they prepare for the final sprint and take the stage victory himself.
