I haven't been around here all that long. In the short amount of time I have been here I've come to know alot of you guys. I don't think I would trade this place for anything.

This is the first gaming clan I have EVER joined. I've never liked the "hardcore" clan mentality so I avoided them like some kind of plague. This place is really a special place.

I understand how whut feels. I've been burnt out on TF2 lately. I don't have L4D so thats not an option for multiplayer. It doesn't matter to me, though, that we don't always play together. I've met some really great people on here and I like to just talk or post in forums.

Really I just wanted to say that this place really matters to me, and the people really matter. I think whut has done the coolest thing ever facilitating this community. I am so appreciative for all the sacrifice. Mostly I want whut to know that this is not in vein in any way. This place has made my life better by lots. I would hope that maybe whut would actually become more into the actual community we have going on here.

Also Plants vs. Zombies. Hell yeah to that game.

My suggestion is to close all the servers except two. Save some resources, weather the drought. Wait for the next big FPS to come out and then open up shop again.

Most other TF2 communities have one or two 'go-to people' in-game almost everyday, checking up on things, tweaking the servers. We have admins for that but we are more whistle-blowers than actual server admins. The tempests certainly have missed the presence of 'real admins' and you can feel that. So yes, lack of in-game activity on WDF's part does make a difference.

At the same time WDF is pouring money/time/attention into this thing and not getting much back. So it's a difficult situation.

Just from I've read on this forum it seems what kept WDF's motivation going has largely dissipated. Maybe that's the problem. I haven't seen many old-schoolers play anymore. TF2 has sort of lost its appeal. That 'cheers' feeling of going to a server and 'everyone knows your name' feeling still exists but maybe not for some. This would be okay for most of the hanger-ons but not really for someone forking out the dough.

I guess what I'm saying is that people play here for certain reasons and those reasons may have lost its effect on some. Hence this post.

I've had a lot of fun playing the Tempest servers, and hope to have as much fun for a long time to come. I've not been in the forums before because, well, I tend to get addicted to forums and need too often to work for a hot meal...

I actually registered to see if I could find out what's happened to T5(Goldrush). No one's been on it for weeks and whenever I visit I experience terrible lag (which I don't experience on other Tempest servers). Anybody know? I'm a bit of a goldrush addict.

There is one thing I'll tell you... I look to see who's playing each and every time I enter the game. I miss playing with Smackdaddy and haven't seen Mr. Oysterhead for a while, but I enjoy the many people that do play regularly.

Cheers!

Pardon my ignorance if I'm wrong, but I thought it was decided weeks ago to close down all but two servers?

Five servers are currently running... though T5 is the only one not actually "working." :-(

I'm actually not really sure how that happened. They were off when I left.

Maybe I'll fire up TF2 again here some time soon.

Thats the sprit come play with us again. youll wonder ehy you ever left. AS for me i have been around for a long time now been here longer than alot of people but not all and yes some of the people i use to play with are not playing anymore but new people come in make new frineds.

The friends i have made here have helped me thur some very bad times in my life, i posted some stuff in forums and got real good encouragement from everyone in the clan at the time. And i talked to soem of you in pm which helped me out even further. With out the friendships i have made here and the help with my problems im not sure if it would still be here or not.

So i say close down some servers but please do not disband the clan.

lol, I caved on that deal too. I was thinking of trying it before and this deal just pushed me instantly.

I dropped for it too.

Now to find optimal settings.

Yeah it seems a little laggy for me sometimes. I don't know why I haven't changed the settings yet.. I like to think my PC can run all the new games at highest settings but I think I'm in denial.

Game has been pretty great so far.. Hasn't exceeded my expectations but I wasn't really expecting anything more than a slightly more fun mod of CoD4. I sure do like sniper rifles that don't require charging though.

Bump!

I know its old news, but I'd like to put in my two cents.

I really enjoy playing with the pDs people I've met so far. WDF, it seems like you do all this work and never enjoy yourself. I haven't been around THAT long, but thats what it looks like to me.

I played CoD4 and WaW on my now broken 360, and while they're fun, I'd only plop down some more money for them if the clan made a serious move towards those games. Where the clan goes, I'll go too. I'm always up for a new game.

...but please don't shut down #1. Please? I don't know if I could live with 24/7 2Fort. :\
