I think the proposed changes to gameplay will be refreshing and make the game more interesting than the camping spots formula alot of players use to get through the campaigns. I enjoy L4D, enough...just dont play it quite as much as TF2.

Left 4 Dead 2 better not be a stand alone game (which it does seem like it is now) cause I'm not dishing out $50 more for the same game as L4D 1. The only reason I did for L4D 1 because knowing valve, they could of gave L4D 1 ALOT more addition content. All we've gotten so far is some bug/glitches fixes and survival mode.

I think that the game does have some good points. The areas, levels, whatever you want to call them, are much more urban and do not have the same run down look that the first game does. There is also some new weapon and ammo types like incendiary ammo which can light people on fire. However I do not think that these features alone warrant a new game. They could have easily been made as mods or downloaded patches to the first game. The first one also needs a lot more work by valve. I think that they are going to rely on the players to create a lot of the content as they have just released a patch that allows us to play player made content.

It LOOKS like a L4D2, but it doesn't seem like a sequel. This should've been an expansion for L4D1. Obviously its had an overhaul in the visual department, so I think the programmers deserve payment for it. I'm just sad that Episode 3 isn't out. I also miss expanded content for the FIRST L4D. Whatever. TF2 ftw.

I wish they made the game more roaming-based and not linear. It would be really awesome to be able to have a coop shooter where you're in an urban, decaying city filled with zombies and you have to depend on things such as utilizing your environment for clues and ways to get to the end. Think 28 days later. Their objective is to get to the safe zone, but the safe zone is on the other side of the city, maybe even the countryside.

I mean, lets say for instance your team decides to take the train route (which would be one of a couple of ways to help you get there). You need to make your way over to the train area, clean it out, and split to where two people secure the train area, and another two activate the random power issue preventing the train to leave. THAT's a different aspect of teamwork that would be awesome. And the best thing is there would be replay value since it's not the same linear crap each time. You have multiple ways of achieving your goal.

Bike, listen to the commentary in L4D. They knew that if they made the game non-linear, people would find a favorite route and stick with it, not exploring around.

I think thats BS. The director engine thing could change the level layout (blocked roads and whatnot). That would be pretty cool, instead of running through the hospital for the 10,000th time. Why don't we just make that game instead of complaining? :P
