It's still in the pre-planning stages until next Wednesday (bar exam), but I have a working idea for a new map that IMO is
  • Ambitious - considering my last map was a conversion!  This is to be a 3-stage map with a modified attack-and-defend / traditional CP combo I've never seen done on a map before

  • Obvious - I wanted to do something that fit within the TF2 visual style/era, and especially given the number of prefab components used in Valve's other maps, I'm absolutely shocked that not only did they not do it, but that with a couple insignificant exceptions, NO ONE has!

  • Going to be so much work it may never ultimately happen!  I've learned an incredible amount from my arena_dust conversion, so it shouldn't take me nearly as long once I get to the production stage that de_dust was in when I began.

I'm excited enough about this that brainstorming it has actually distracting me from important studies right now, hence why I'm posting about it.  But for the next week at least, if not longer... I guess this is all I have to say about it.

Awesome news! I hope all goes well with your map since I know how meticulous this process is. Good luck to you.

Sounds good. I look forward to testing it!
