God no. They would make awful maps for L4D. Murdy will put hours into transplanting them...we will play them through once and say" well that was fun and novel" and then never play them again.
Make a L4D map/movie that leads you through Disney World. You can call it "Amuzement Dark" Quote:

Gunslinger wrote:dustbowl, goldrush, avanti, warpath, bedroom warfare if possible, 2fort, lockdown I second these ideas. Also, you apparently don't need the L4D SDK to run source maps in L4D. Videos serve as proof. Perhaps missing safe room assignments, weapon spawns, etc. But they run. I don't know the specifics there. I envisioned a campaign consisting of 5 css maps all buttfuck-edited together. ( cs_office in l4d sounds very, very appealing ) Safety + Peace

Well dont let that stop you....there are no new mapping ideas....just better or worse maps. I might jump back into mapping just to have some fun....its been a while since cs and quake...but its like riding a bike, i hear. Quote:

Yeah somebody said that when I moved from mapping quake 1 and 2 to HL...and ya know what...it was the same, lol.
I mapped for CS and an upstart "that never started" HL mod. I have used the original hammer quite a bit and it looks almost the same as the source hammer. And I mapped for quake 1 and 2....not 3..fuck that shit. Its all the same...just prettier. Brushes and textures and leaks and entities and lighting and compiling and scripting.....Infact I would gather that map building is easier now than it was back during quake and quake2 (FPs limitations and draw distance problems)...But also more powerful.
